The pics aren’t the greatest, but this looks like a neat brochure. This is a 17×11 brochure that folds along with 3 additional price sheets.
This looks in good shape.
“Has been converted to a Buick nailhead 425 engine. Warn overdrive, koening power takeoff winch. Vehicle has been in storage for many years. Runs but needs some engine work. Good rubber, good body, good interior. Solid cab with no rust, but bed has rusted areas. Call for more information.

Yes, the readers of “Finding Virginia” now span from the Northern reaches of Norway, thanks to Even, and to the Southern region of South Africa, thanks to Claus. There are even a few books at points in between the two!
Even wrote to tell me he was sharing his copy of my book with a friend of his named Reider Haugen. He added, “Reidar is among many Jeepers in Norway that keep himself updated with Ewillys every day He is also one of the members of Flatfender Fellows here in Norway. I brought my sample of “Finding Virginia” for him to have a look as you see from the picture.
Reidar is almost done with his very nice Willys Utility Delivery with a GM engine and some Scout parts underneath. This is going to be a nice daily driver next to his Willys Pickup Truck sporting a Volvo engine. Remember we are close to the Swedes . . .
In the middle you can see my Jeep Cj-7 Golden Eagle that I have owned for excactly 24 years today.
Now you know how far your book has spread around the world! We both wanted to thank you for the best webpage ever for us Jeep-enthusiasts”
Thanks guys, I love the picture!
There are plenty of parts here.
“I have two old Willys pickups. Cleaning up the property and these need gone. I would really like to see these go to someone who would use them or parts off them instead of scraping them. The first one is complete though has plenty of rust. Flat head 4 cyl. did run and drive a few years ago. Second one is frame, running hear, bed and cab and is in alot better shape. Hood and fenders are in the bed. Also have a box full of misc. small parts. Hurry or I’m taking them to scrap in two weeks. Both trucks are on tires. The roller has nice mud tires.”

A couple items need fixing, but otherwise this looks good.
“1951 Willys Overland 4WD Pickup…$6,000 FIRM
1951 Willys Overland 4WD pickup restored to original. Stock Hurricane F-Head 134 c.i. engine. Recently rebuilt. Runs excellent. Original floor mounted stick T-90 3 speed transmission. Hi/Low range works fine. Lockout hubs. Original 7.00×16 tires. Original owner’s manual. Restoration completed in 2005.
New glass, chrome replated, spray in bed liner, etc.
…engine runs perfectly, but the truck bogs down when going up hills. Believe this is a timing/vacuum advance issue??
…per original owner, the original 1951 cab was totalled in 1956 but the rolling chassis was not damaged. Another 1951 cab was purchased and placed on the original chassis. Consequently, the engine and body #’s do not match. This was not a problem when I purchased and registered the truck in California.
…brakes occasionally grab when brakes are applied
…drivers side window is off the track and is laying loose inside the door panel.”
This has been modified. If you look in the 2nd picture you can see this truck in the background. It might still be available for sale, too.
“1951 Willy’s Club Cab Pick-Up – Custom Built. All new glass; new door & window seals; bucket seats. Mounted on Chevy truck frame. 350 V8 automatic. Power steering & brakes. Tintable bedliner paint job. 12,000# Badland Winch. Great driving truck for an every day driver! $6,000 OBO. Email or call Dale at 406-961-4195.”
This truck looks good.
“1946 Willys pickup truck (1st year civilian model after WWII). Rare find!! Completely stock to frame restoration. Will need round of body and paint to mint condition. 4 cylinder mighty might Jeep motor, 3 speed on the column, 2 wheel drive, foot switch starter, decent new interior, red paint. Very clean engine compartment and interior. Picture car!
Price: $9,000, City: Palmdale, State: CA”
This looks good on the outside (though the tailgate appears a little odd). The cab needs some work and wiring.
“54 Willys 4×4 Truck
283 Chevy eng, Edelbrock carb
Original 3spd trans with extra overdrive
New wire harness
Another nice truck.
“I have a nice 1959 Jeep truck for sale. I have done some updates over the years. Updates include relined gas tank, brakes, hoses, belt, plugs, tires, tow bar, paint, etc. I had it painted back to original as best as I could.
It still needs a parking brake cable and a vent window is cracked. It has low mileage and was a barn find when I bought it. It was all original and had only surface rust. It is what attracted me to it. It has the strong six super hurricane engine and does not smoke. It runs strong and the clutch is good. I was told it is a rare 1 ton model. I have a clear Texas title. The only reason I would sell it is I have a CJ-2A also and do not need two Jeeps. I think it is better than a new Razor, mule or any other ATV since it is in another class for the money. I have a bus bench seat for additional riders in the bed. Please call for a showing or test drive.
UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was listed on eBay.
“Here is a classic that I hate to part with but its time to spend some quality time traveling. Since the restoration product this truck has had very little mileage ,Usually trailered to events or driven to local events / Parades less than 600 miles . WARNING this truck WILL TURN HEADS !!! . As you can see the truck has been gone thru from top to bottom The Super Hurricane 6cyl has been completly rebuilt full rebuild kit , New Everything on Engine , Front and Rear axles were serviced and all bearings and bushings replaced . Complete Brake system , Master cyl, Drums , Pads , Rubber brake lines and all hard lines replaced from master cyl , Shocks , New tires and rims , Deep cycle Battery ,Truck has been converted to 12 volt system, All Glass and seals were replaced , complete interior and headliner done in Dark brown and tan , Heater core and fan replaced ,Truck has all original metal body pannels and fenders. Stripped all original metal body pannels and painted Yellow , Pinstriping and lettering to highlight the vehicle , Rear lights are LED ,Truck bed was Linex lined , Operational winch with remote control , spare tire cover matching interior , Spare tire matches rims and tires on truck .
The only thing that I can think of that needs replacing is the wiper motor about $100 to replace never drove vehicle in rain so was not worried about it . Front differential cover leaks chrome covers good luck trying to get these to seal nothing major . Im sure I left out something if you have any questions please ask.”
Here’s a neat brochure. I can not remember running across one of these installed on a truck for sale.
Rob was waiting for family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, while on vacation when he spotted this nice looking truck.
He writes, “I went out into the parking lot to see if I could find some old Jeeps and there it was in the parking lot , nice looking truck. Did not find the owner. Hope the pictures turned out. Rob.”
UPDATE: This was on eBay in 2012.
I suspect there are a few Garwood converted Willys Trucks still out there.
Bruce uncovered this unusual reference to Mexico’s Tourist Patrol Service. I believe this group is also referred to as the Angeles Verdes (Green Angels). According to a 2003 book, the Patrol Service still exists; However, I’ve been fortunate enough not to have had to need it. I tried to find some historical photographs showing jeeps, but didn’t have any luck.
I can’t tell which is the parts truck and which is the ‘good’ truck.
“We have two 1958 willys Trucks for sale. One runs the other is for parts.”
The body looks good. I always like those slot rims, too.
“NEEDS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The side boards on this truck are about as raw as you can make them. Even the bark is still on the wood.
“I have a 1954 jeep willys pick up for sale 1000.00 obo …………….. call mark 362 2856…………………..”

This truck has quite the patina. It gets 28 mpg on the highway?

(05/18/2012) Glenn spotted this unusual bumper with a Willys Overland design.
“1948 WILLYS TRUCK. ALL ORIGNAL. 4 CYL (not running, turns over). 3 speed on column. 1TON RATED. 802-824-4117.”
I can’t tell how many items are really there.
“Willys sheet metal, fenders, hood, doors ,front grill $500. for all #831-801-8595″
This looks like a nice truck for the price. I’m sure it needs some work.
“1957 Willys Pickup runs, needs some brake work. 4×4 all works. Will consider trades. For more information call Jeff @ 989-362-3636″

What’s not to love about this crazy contraption. It even comes with a safely rope on the passenger side and a 2×4 that stabilizes the radiator.
“1949 willys 4×4 chassis, 235 chevy 6 cylinder, new battery, runs and yard drives, no brakes would be good for a rat rod or mud bogger project call 810-210-5971 between 9am-8pm”
Very little description.
“trade for model a ford not for sale trade only”
The truck has some dust, but otherwise looks nice. The jeep is listed as a 1950, but I’m guessing it is more likely a CJ-2A.
