Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This Willys is in great shape! It needs some minor work, but runs good. The body is super solid. There are a couple of nicks in the paint, but nothing major. We’ve kept it in the garage, and have only driven it to a few car shows around town. The previous owner rebuilt, and painted it before he passed away. He took great care of this beauty, and entered many car shows with it. His son put it up for sale and we bought it.
Before that, we know nothing about the vehicle. We have owned this vehicle for about 3 years. This vehicle was rebuilt by the previous owner with these added features: 3.8 Buick V6, 350 Turbo Automatic Transmission, B&M Floor Shifter, custom built interior, black carpeting inside cargo area, Pioneer Stereo, bright yellow paint.”

This looks like a good price given the condition and upgrades; However, are those windows that are painted in the back.

This is a nice looking Wagon. There are a few very minor issues with it.
“I bought this all original wagon in 2004 from wagonmaster.com about five years ago. When I bought the wagon it was advertised as having a “freshly rebuilt Hurricane 6 engine” and I am the third owner.
It is a very fun and wonderful wagon. The color combination of gold (khaki) and president red (an original Willy’s color) are a stunning combination. I get comments on it all of the time. The other day I drove it to work (four miles from my house) and I got two thumbs up on the freeway and a “shout out” from a young lady who professed love for my Willy’s! This happens all of the time.
I will, occasionally, rent my cars out for advertising photo shoots. This past fall Lands End used my wagon for the cover page of their nationally distributed Christmas catalog. I am told Lands End received a lot of inquiries about the Willy’s itself and if it was for sale….”

(07/15/2010) This is one of those odd title situations — I can understand on a non op why an owner might delay getting a title, but I don’t understand it on a vehicle that is driven around …
“1960 Willys wagon, 2 wheel drive. Converted to a bone stock Chevy 350 V8, auto trans & Chevy 10 bolt rear end, (not a Mickey Mouse job). Has “I” beam front drop axel, rack & pinion power steering, drum brakes all around, BMW wheels, new tires, tilt front body, new carpet, FM CD player, reverse arched front leaf springs, lowering blocks in rear, surf boards & racks, redwood headliner, dual quiet Flowmaster type mufflers, electric & stock engine fans. no leaks anywhere! Temp does not get above 160. Runs like a champ! This is NOT a show car, but what a blast to drive! I have the title, but it is still in previous owners name. “1954 Willys 4×4 Station Wagon. All original except conversion to 12-volt, and electric fuel pump. 6 cylinder L-226 Super-Hurricane engine. T-90 transmission. Warn overdrive. Engine, transmission, and overdrive have all been rebuilt. Clean inside and out. Original oak floor strips. Some rust over rear wheel wells. Can send additional pictures. $6000 obo. This is a great looking Wagon … but who actually appraises vehicles and why don’t the know what they are doing? I mean, it appraised at $19,000? That is nuts.

“1956 Willys Overland station wagon. Chopped, raked and stretched. Power steering. Power brakes. 1967 Chevrolet 327 with Powerglide. 1934 Ford front fenders and bumper. Chevrolet S-10 chassis. All steel except hood scoop and front 1/2 of front fenders. Personally built by myself from the ground-up over 2 years. Everything new or rebuilt. Deathtrap Customs “flying Skull” hood ornament. 16″ American racing Hopster wheels and new Kona 235/16 tires. New brakes, bearings, shocks and control arm bushings. Rear differential from 1997 S-10 opened, thoroughly cleaned, inspected, painted and installed with new, correct fluid. New drive shaft. 1967 Chevrolet aluminum Powerglide totally rebuilt by Dakota Clutch and Transmission. 1967 Chevrolet Impala 327 “double hump” heads (275 hp Impala). Roller rockers. 1967 Corvette 350 hp aluminum Winter “snowflake” intake manifold. Bored and crank turned .030. Heddman headers. 1967 Chevrolet power steering. Holley 4-barrel. (06/04/2010) This is an interesting project … a wagon on a camaro foundation.

“I have a project 54 Willys panel wagon. It has chevy small block motor mounts with auto trans crossmenber. It has a 305 in it that ran when it waspulled. The floor pans are rusted out but i have new ones that need fitted and welded. there is definitly some work that needs to be put into this thing but its a super cool kinda rare find. There is NO TITLE but the motor vehicle inspector will give you one fairly easy.”
