A beautiful Maverick wagon restored by Willys America.
“Impeccably and professionally restored by Paul Berry of Willy’s America in California. No changes not original except aftermarket windshield wiper motor. It can be returned to vacuum power easily. Assembled near the closing of the Willy’s manufacturing line this 1961 two-tone Willy’s Maverick was named for the television show starring James Garner popular at the time. Very few miles on the completely rebuilt engine. Original paint colors in better condition than the original paint. This Willy’s is a collector’s dream vehicle. No radio, no seat belts, no smog or catalytic converter this vehicle is as it came of the assembly line.”

“DEALER SHOWROOM CLASSIC WILLYS!!! ORIGINAL MILES!! OWNED BY JEEP SERVICE MANAGER!! INVESTMENT GRADE WILLYS WAGON. I BOUGHT IT OFF THEIR SHOWROOM FLOOR SEVERAL YEARS AGO. UNRESTORED ORIGINAL CONDITION. ORIGINAL INTERIOR!!! ALWAYS STARTS RIGHT UP AND RUNS LIKE A SEWING MACHINE. IDLES SO SMOOTH AND QUITE YOU CAN BARELY HEAR IT RUN Cool patina, but also easily buff out. Both dealer and myself think it should be left as is. Runs great. Shifts great. Starts great. 4×4 works great. Doors and windows operate great. All door locks work great. Heater works great. Radio works but doesn’t sound great, never did. Original Willys branded floor rubber in darn good condition. All knobs there and work. Everything seems to be intact , original and working. Won’t find a better kept original.
Original dealer installed Warn overdrive works great. Cruise 60 all day long. Warn hubs work smoothly. Stored in climate controlled warehouse and driven occasionally. Might have a couple of more miles from test drives. ”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3495
(08/17/2015) It’s worth a look.
“This is an incredibly solid, original 1960 Willys Wagon 2 door Maverick Edition. It has been extremely well taken care of over the years and drives amazing given its original status. The “Super Hurricane” flathead straight-six engine starts and runs like a top. The whole drive train is solid, it has a manual 3 speed transmission with an overdrive also referred to as a “brownie” gear. 4 wheel drive shifts and works good too. Has no problem starting or getting around, even during winter. Continue reading
This looks like a good price.

“56 Willys 4×4 Station Wagon, collector’s plates no yearly tabs to buy. New fuel pump, rebuilt carb, new rear brakes including wheel brake cylinders, grease seals and guard. Last owner told me motor was rebuilt and it appears to be rebuilt as compression checks out and is uniform between all 6 cylinders. Has Willys Super Hurrican straight 6. Motor runs quite. Bought for fun and bug out, while working on it to get it on the road I realized my disability makes it to difficult and is to hard on me, so hopefully you will benefit from my misfortune. You can drive it on property to see it does drive, but this old girl does need restoration.”

It runs.
“2nd owner. Odometer is 7,256 miles (yes, still works. Read on).
Purchased late 70’s, used at summer lake cabin on weekends. From cabin to lake shore and back to cabin (1 city block away). Down the hill, reverse, up the hill (hence low mileage on odometer).
Original Willys Super Hurricane inline 6 cylinder, 3 speed stick, Hi/Lo 4X4.
Engine starts easy, runs pretty good. Smokey, needs ring job.
Also needs: cosmetics (paint, some rust), brakes (none), passenger floor board and door, gas tank, original upholstery (except driver’s seat).
Still a solid rig. Great fixer upper (hate to see it go for parts).”
