I suspect this couple was just married. You can’t say this woman didn’t know what she was getting herself into! Also, due to popular demand, I’ve added a “Women and Jeeps” Category.

1943 Photo of Dorothy Soderlund in North Africa on eBay
UPDATE: This photo of Dorothy Soderlund was purchased on eBay last May. Her niece, Nancy, discovered the photo on eWillys and wondered if an eWillys reader purchased the photo? As you can read in the comments, Nancy thought a great deal of her aunt Dorothy. If you purchased the photo, either comment below or contact me directly d @ evillys.com to learn more about Dorothy from Nancy.
Isn’t this an unusual photo? Based on the folded caption on the back of the photo, Dorothy Soderlund was a State Department Employee who is holding a trophy made from a bomb casing and a baseball signed by Eisenhower (possibly Dwight).

Valentine Greeting Jeep Card
I just spotted this vintage card, so I got it for Ann. Or maybe, I’ll give it to her, so she can give it to me? Somehow, I’ll make sure she is happy and I get the card!
1944 W-O Assembly Plant Nurse w/Pills on eBay
Marc found this interesting photo. The caption explains that a nurse is handing out a pill to help prevent colds. Anyone know what the pills might be?
The information reads: FATAL TO FLU — A pill a day keeps the flu away! That’s the theory behind a cold-prevention campaign now being carried on among workers at Willys-Overland Motors, where the use of special immunization tablets have reduce colds by 80 percent and checked absenteeism. Here, a plant nurse passes the tablets out among “Jeep” girls on the company’s assembly line.

1943 Camp Lejeune Photo on ebay
It looks posed, but it’s still a good shot.
“943- Pvt. Doris Irwin, U.S. Marine Corps, during advanced training course at Camp Lejeune. Photo measures approx. 8″ x 10”
Surfer Roxy in Alex’s CJ-3A
A US surfing celebrity called Roxy dropped by Moorea in Tahiti and borrowed Alex’s CJ3A for some fashion shots. I personally think they cropped too much of the jeep, but I guess it is all about the model these days . . . On the bright side, he made a few bucks on the rental 🙂
To Roxy’s credit, she could drive the jeep well. You can see more pictures of Alex’s jeeps (without Roxy) here
Here are some additional photos from the photoshoot
Finally, you can catch a quick glimpse of the jeep racing through the pinapple fields. You’ll have to watch a bunch of women in small bikinis to see it though. I’m sure you’ll all suffer through it just fine.

Studio Prop Jeep Postcard on eBay
I can’t tell if this is a photgraphic studio prop jeep or a movie studio prop jeep.
“Original World War II Real Photo Postcard, (An actual photograph), Postally Unused. Women in Unusual Military Jeep Studio Prop. The photo’s in very good condition, but does have a band of very fine cracks running vertically up the middle of the photo, about 1″ wide. They are extremely fine and not visible at all unless photo is held in reflected light. It has very sharp detail, better than scan”
