This has been rhino-lined on the outside.
“I am selling my beloved Jeep. a 1949 CJ 2A The engine was rebuilt two years ago and is very solid, starts every time. Solid trans and four wheel works great low and hi range. A custom made aluminum um 10 gallon fuel cell. Tires are Kumho tires less than two years old, a full roll cage, large brush guard with lights and a second set of tires. The entire Jeep is rhino lined inside and out. This jeep is not perfect but has not let me down. I purchased the Jeep in 2010 and have used it as a hunting vehicle. I had plans on completely restoring it but just never got around to it. I hate to sell it but need to.”
From page 1 of the India-Burma Theatre Roundup Newspaper comes this unusual photo featuring a jeep and men loading and testing rockets juxtaposed with a picture of a jeep as ambulance.

John spotted this photograph. It includes a newspaper clipping to show that it was published.
“You are bidding on an original 8 X 10 Wire Photo of US Military Jeep & Cadets At Florida Military Academy St Pete. Photo is dated 3/6/49. Photo has slight wrinkles right edge. Jeep..”
Here’s an unusual jeep engine manual.
“‘Jeep’ Industrial Engine Manual and Parts List 4&6 Cylinder
4&6 Cylinder Industrial Engines – Copyright 1965
8-1/2-inch wide x 11-inch high format, paper covers, 218 pages of photos, illustrations, exploded views and parts lists covering: Preventive Maintenance; The Four Cylinder L-Head Type Engine; The Four Cylinder F-Head Type Engine; The Six Cylinder Overhead Cam Engine (Tornado); Fuel System; Electrical System; Specifications And Parts List. Industrial Engine Sales Kaiser Engine Sales, Toledo, Ohio. The covers are lightly soiled from handling; minor age and wear. The interior pages are excellent.”
The buy-it-now price is only $8500. This needs a few things, but is a solid start for a nice restoration.
“his is a 1948 Willys Jeepster. It has overdrive. The Engine is original and runs great with no problems. Was rebuilt 10 years ago. The tranny shifts with no problems. I do not have the air filter, or radio. The car is currently painted Yellow/Black. It is an original Maroon car. The interior on the car is in great shape. No rips in the seats. The carpet is there but would need to be replaced. The dash cluster needs restoring. The speedometer needle is broken off and not currently hooked up. The fuel gauge isn’t working. This body and sheet metal on the car is solid with surface rust in a few areas. There is 1 rust through hole under the rear seat. All chrome is there but would need to be re chromed if a restoration is desired. This is a car that can be easily restored or just drive it the way it is. This is a very original car.”
UPDATE: Status unknown. Was priced at $3250. Disassembled!
(01/19/2013) Wow, this is a great price.

UPDATE: **SOLD ** Was on eBay
“Nice frame off resto back in 2000- 2004. Only has 4400 miles on it now since build. Everything is new or rebuilt. Rides great at 65mph with 35s, not like most jeeps. It has 1983 toyota axles front and rear and the front half of frame is all toyota and toyota power steering. toyota front seats with covers. It has a fresh sbc 327, 4 speed with a np205, full soft top, 5-35 inch kumho venture tires, 8k ramsey winch, lock box with cd player, all gauges lights wiper heater work, really nice paint, full cage, speakers in rear, back seat turns around so u can sit backwards and shoot…. Its a fast fun reliable willys jeep. Indoors all its life, driven on saturdays and at car shows only, hasnt been offroaded.”
This may be a rare DJ-6, though it’s had some work done to it.
“I’ve had this jeep for a few years and am moving back to the beach to a place without a garage to work on it. It’s a little rough around the edges but i drive it all over. It has very little rus for a a California jeep, the corners where the feet are and the front fenders are all that have rusted through spots. It is a factory 2 wheel drive but I have almost everything to make it a 4×4, has a Buick 231 v6 which a prior owner put in to replace the original 225 v6. I put on a new holly carb, 4″ lift, 33″ bgf km2s, all new steering joints, shocks, all new accessories, edelbrock intake, headers, glaspacks, had the turbo 350 auto transmission rebuilt, cv driveshaft, 8 point roll cage, fuel tank, fuel pump. It starts right up and drives reliably every time. On the down side, it could use a new motor, it has a little low compression on one cylinder and burns oil, the wiring is all funky but it works, the brakes start to fade with lots of use and the steering is loose. Some of this is due to 4 wheel drum brakes and an old, crazy way jeep did their steering back then. I’ll throw in a set of 3/4 ton gm axles (corporate 14 bolt, 10 bolt without brakes), extra driveshafts, 5 complete 12 bolt, 8 lug, 37″ HUMVEE wheels with good tires and 2 extra rims. I also have an extra transfer case if you want to run a left differential axle. I also have a tow bar and lights I’ll throw in if you want to tow it. With a little time and knowledge this will be a truly and awesome jeep. As it is I can’t go anywhere without people stopping me. As you can see I’ve got way more in to this than I’m asking. $4k is an awesome price for this project so I’m firm on the price. The only trades I will consider are for a 450+ street legal super moto, a beat up but rideable full size harley, or possible a 71 model chevy truck or blazer. This is a very rare jeep and finding a project like this that you can actually drive home in is even rarer.”
No pics provided.
“I have a 1943 jeep willys mb. I bought it as a project car but now money is tight and need to sell it. the jeep is complete. It may need a carb clean up, maybe a brake master cylinder and a couple of oil hoses. If interested email me i’ll send some pic.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
No engine or tranny, but this looks restorable.
“This is a 1947 Willys Overland Wagon. It is the first full year of production for the Willys Wagon, it is 2 wheel drive, which is very rare. It has no engine or trans. I have a signed off title that was issued from NJ in 1956. THIS IS AN AWSOME RESTORATION PROJECT OR ONE OFF HOT ROD!”
This appears to be a good price. Looks solid. The fenders appear to be later model ones, given the divot for the side light.
“completely rebuilt, new CJ5 soft top, has 15 inch wheels and tires, comes with the original 16 inch wheels and tires, 4 cyl ( OHV) engine, runs great. call 814-280-1976 between 3:00-8:00 pm”
