UPDATE:  Sold.  Was listed at $10,000

(05/08/2012) I saw early pictures of this project.  Bryan’s done a good job bringing it back to life.

“What you are looking at is an original restored 1945 WWII Ford GPW Jeep. These have become quite rare. Nearly all parts are “F marked” from the factory all the way down to almost every bolt! This Jeep is nearly complete from top to bottom and is mainly all original. All that you see on the Jeep goes with the Jeep. The body is in very good condition. The front floor has been repaired along with all the hat channels. The rear floor was replaced. The bottom of the floor and top of the floor has been coated in bed liner to protect the metal from future elements. The transmission Is the original T84. For a 67 year old vehicle, this Jeep looks great and is ready for you to hop in a go. Its ready for that around town drive or that WWII reenactment. The engine runs perfectly with great oil pressure and no smoke and is an original WWII engine top to bottom. The brakes have been reworked, and all the electrical replaced including the gauges. The tires are new 600-16 6 ply military NDT tires; thats the original style from the factory. The data tags and frame are number matching! The Jeep has a clear title! Sold as is.

1961 FC-170 Ohio **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: FC150-FC170-M677 • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7000

Mark has this over at jeeptruck.com.

“I am selling my 1961 Jeep FC170.
Engine: L226 Flat Head 6 cylinder, re-gasket and bearings in 2006
Trans: T98A 4-speed, new Kevlar clutch in 2006
Dana 18 T-case rebuilt in 2006
Dana 44 closed knuckle front diff 4:88 ratio
Dana 53 Rear diff 4:88 ratio
Vacuum assist brakes
Wood stake bed with removable sides and ends
Awesome Marine grade chrome and stainless exhaust stacks that are for real and working
In 2005 -2006 this Jeep went through an engine rebuild, new upgrade wiring, t-case rebuild, front differential knuckle seals, bearings, Rancho shocks. I have not done any restoration to the body, it is the same as I acquired it.

A little history of this truck: previous owner purchased it at an FBI auction in Florida. It had 7″ of lift on it. They brought it back to Toledo, Ohio where it sat behind a building getting rocks thrown at it, where we bought it. I got it running within 3 days with carb rebuild but only on 5 cylinders. Took out the scary lift kit and engine the next winter and went through it along with the transfer case and clutch. The wiring was mouse eaten in places so a total rewire was in order. Then came brake lines, M/Cylinder, fuel lines (3/8″ stainless), front knuckle seals and wheel bearing pack. Amsoil 80w90 in all trans, t-case, front and rear diffs.

It’s not all in original form or function, some improvements have been made to the electrical and mechanicals. but it is a driver and head turner whenever I blow the dust off it here in Toledo. I’ve had it to the GM Powertrain Park N Shine show many times and have been blessed to meet a few of the people that worked at Jeep that remember working the assembly line building them, just to see the expression on their faces to see one again. I always let them or the young ones sit in it.

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Needs a different engine.

“The vehicle has all parts necessary to run minus the engine. The engine blew and is unrepairable. It has little to no rust. I have only owned it for 5 months.

4 wheel drive.
New tires less than 200 miles on them.
Rhino lined.
8000lb Winch.
Custom canvas top.
Custom back seat will hold 3 adults.
Insured, Registered, clean title.
Tow triangle.
New battery.
Parts not yet installed but included with the sale:

Windshield wiper system (for drivers side window), turn signal kit, rear-view mirror, and two side mirrors.

I will also include the “original” service manual, parts manual and owners guide. The reason I’m selling this Jeep is because I am in the USCG and I’m transferring this summer and I do not have the time to replace the engine and get the Jeep back to 100%. I would prefer a local buyer. Price is somewhat flexible pending your shipping/transport arrangements.

CJ-3B Go Kart Aloha, Or $850

• CATEGORIES: Features, toys This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  Price dropped to $850

(04/09/2012) To quote the seller, “Be the envy of your neighborhood”.

“For sale is a one of a kind “Willys high hood” replica Jeep go cart. I custom built the body out of 20 gauge sheet metal with an inner steel support frame. It’s based on a riding lawn tractor frame and running gear, with hydrostatic forward and reverse drive. I changed out the drive pulleys so it goes plenty fast now. The motor is a 16 horsepower 2 cylinder that runs great. Comes complete with functional head and running lights. It’s all around a fun go kart. Perfect for your kids, grandkids, parades or to cruise around hunting camp. You could even put the mower deck back on it and be the envy of your neighborhood!! It does have a tow hitch on it for small utility/lawn trailers. Please call for more information, I’ll entertain REASONABLE offers. I do have a lot of time and a good bit of money in materials building this thing. No text messages please. $850 o.b.o Pete @ 503-830-0834  P.S. I can possibly modify your riding lawn mower, call for details.”

Just a Few Updates Tonight

• CATEGORIES: News This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Ann and I are back in Seattle tonight awaiting Dad’s surgery tomorrow.  He is having his aortic valve replaced.  We expect things will go well, but there are a few complications, so it’s no simple surgery.

Therefore, just a few updates tonight.  More tomorrow.

Also, I will be signing books at the WAAAM  Museum in Hood River, Oregon, this Saturday.  So, stay tuned for more on that later this week.

Paul’s Jeep sees the Daylight (For a little while)

• CATEGORIES: Features, stainless/jewels • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Like a bear emerging from it’s cave after a long winer, Paul temporarily removed his custom M-38 from its Alaskan lair.

He writes, “The garage was opened and the Willys was pulled out into the early morning light today.  The poor Jeep was coated with sanding dust which I removed by blasting the body with high pressure air and followed that with a water rinse so you’ll notice the water droplets clinging to the sheet metal.  Anyway, with all the glass installed, the stainless wiper arms and blades mounted and most all of the major work done this project is looking pretty good to me.  I need to work on the frame welding up the extra holes, finish the radiator mount and double check everything before the frame gets sandblasted one more time before getting powder coated glossy black.

When my new sheet metal brake arrives I’ll finish remaking the fuel tanks, I wasn’t happy with the first set I built so I scrapped them and started over with a slightly different design.  Viewing the Willys outdoors from a distance is so different from the usual close up view in a packed garage I’ve become accustomed to and I get a better idea of what the finished Willys will look like.  I think this Jeep will cause people to stop and take a second look but that might be wishful thinking on my part.  Either way, I’m happy with the progress (I’ll admit I’ve taken much longer than I’d originally planned) and there’s more to do but I’m still a happy guy.

Over 4,000 hours of fabrication time to get to this point and still many more hours of work are necessary to complete this rebuild but I’m not tired.  I’ve learned a lot along the way and I’m reasonably pleased with my quality so far.”

CJ-3B Abandoned during 1965 War

According to this Pakistani Blog (in English?) this CJ-3B was “The Jeep of Indian Major General Parasad; he left it and ran away during a retaliation attack by Pakistani forces”.   It was part of the 1965 War.  I hope the Pakistani forces didn’t blow it up.
