UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay

“1946 Willys Jeep CJ-2A. This is a no reserve auction so it will sell regardless of price. The bidding will start at $1.00. It starts good, runs good, and drives good. Original 4 cylinder L-head 134 flathead engine. Good shape. Carb will need to be cleaned or put a carb kit in it (choke has to be pulled out halfway to get it to run good). 4×4 seems to work good as well as the Hi-Lo Transmission. Tranny has a howl in high gear but not too bad. Missing brake access cover. Brakes work good. Clutch works good. Needs a new speedo cable. Speedo shows 1415 miles but not sure if it works (the speedo end of the cable is frayed). Temp and Oil Pressure.”

“1960 Willy Jeep FC170

This is a 4 wheel drive jeep truck with standard transmission..I don’t believe there are any accessories.

If anyone has information on the Jeep please write as I’m in the dark about this truck.

Condition of truck is unknown. The truck drove before being put in storage. The truck was parked 10-15 (?) years ago in a dry building with a concrete floor. He had 2 willys Jeeps, He used the 1st. Jeep on the farm. Sold the 1st. Jeep that was listed on E-Bay. The remaing Jeep might had been the better of the two.

I WAS JUST LOOKING AT THE PICTURES. I FAILED TO STATE CONDITION OF WINDSHIELD. PICTURE #2 SHOWS CRACK RUNNING UP FROM THE WIPER ARM.

The husband has past away and I’m advertising the reming vehicle for the widow. SHE HAS A CLEAR MISSOURI TITLE

The truck will need to be carried away. All serious offers will be looked at and answered. The Jeep is South of Kansas City some 75 miles.Located on all weather county road.”

Jeep Collages

• CATEGORIES: Artists/Drawings, Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

I ran across the below Collage and thought it would make an interesting post to group  some of the collages I’ve run across.

From Ensarf.com comes this Bob Facklam Print.  It is signed and numbered.  Price is $19.85:

Tim Dolan and I were selling these. I haven’t reordered any.

This is a neat illustration I saw at the WAAAM Museum by Yasuo Ohtsuka called “The Jeep . . . A Concise History”

Here are a couple from Roberto Flores:

I ran across the cool picture below at roderblog.com during a search for collages.  It was taken by Jeff Roder at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum in Pueblo, Colorado.  Neither Ann nor I have been there, but I’m sure in our travels we’ll wander through there as the ‘Eilers Bar’ is in Pueblo.

Here is a photo of the MB that I found on Flickr.  It was taken by jwm1049.

1948 CJ-2A Joplin, MO **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2800

This might be worth a look.

“I am selling my 1948 Willys Jeep. I have owned it for about 7 years and just don’t have the time to use or fix it. I rebuilt the original L-head 4-cylinder motor about 3 years ago because it had a rod knocking. Runs smooth now. In the last few years I have replaced the master cylinder, installed new clutch and new Solex carb, replaced the starter, installed alternator, installed Superlift 2.5″ lift springs, added winch and winch mount( Warn M8000). The floors were replaced by the previous owner. It now sits on 31″ BFG tires on black Cragar Soft 8 wheels. Right now it needs the brakes worked on, the lines are good but it needs new brake shoes, a wheel cylinder and a bleeder screw replaced. I have the title in my name. $2800 with winch or $2500 without winch and winch mount. Would prefer not to trade unless you make it worth while. Thank You.”

Bleed the brakes and it was driving. That was now over a year ago. I have been keeping this as a long term project but its time to go. No paper but has been unregistered for over a decade. Rust in the typical areas. Trade?? ”

Erik’s MB

• CATEGORIES: Builds, Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Nineteen Year Old Erik and I have been tossing a few emails back and forth over the past two days.  He’s another one of these young kids who has found time to rebuild multiple jeeps.  He shares his story and his jeep below:

Erik writes, “I started getting interested in restoring jeeps when my neighbor got a 43 MB and convinced me to start WW2 Reenacting. I decided that I wanted to get one too and began saving to buy one, This led me to your site were I spent almost every day looking for just the right one. As I was only 17 at the time I didn’t have much of a budget to start with so I wanted to get one that wouldn’t need too much work. I ended up finding one in california and had it shipped here. When I got it I realized that the pictures didn’t reveal how much work would actually go into it.

I began going to reenactments after I got the jeep (It wasn’t restored yet so I couldn’t bring it) and saw that the majority of reenactors who had jeeps did a work as you go kind of thing, Which caused them to not look very good. This made me decide that I would do a complete frame up restoration of mine.

It took me a year to get the jeep torn down, The frame sandblasted, I Rebuilt the engine, Transmission, transfercase, and did some bodywork to the Hood, Fenders, and grill. The body ended up being replaced as I don’t have the tools to do that.  It was then rebuilt, Painted the correct OD green for the time and theater of war. I ended up making the stencils by hand and painted them onto the body.

I was able to bring it to the first Reenactment in October 2011. It was an airshow in Midland TX (I live in Houston). It was there that I was asked by a fellow reenactor to help restore his GPW. He had all of the parts he needed already purchased so it was a pretty fast restore (took around 4 months) with his help. I am now working on a 43 MB for a friend.
