Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1946 cj2a agri jeep. This jeep is one of the earlier 1946 models made for the farmer after ww2. This jeep does run and drive. It does smoke a little. And does need work! Only the front parking lights work, no other lights. It does need some steering work There is a lot of rust in the body. But the frame appears to be solid! I believe this jeep has the original 4 cylinder engine. It also has the optional PTO on the back. I do have an extra set of fenders that need work , but might be better than the ones that are on it that will go with the jeep. Feel free to call me to ask any questions !”

“I have a 1951 Jeep CJ3A chassis that has a 1953 CJ3B engine with low running time since a rebuild. As of right now it turns over but wont start. It is a project I have had for a long time but dont have the time to work on it. It has no body tub or fenders but does have the windshield and the hood. I also have a soft top for it. It also has a fairly new distributor, coil and a rebuilt starter. This past winter I mounted the seats and gas tank to move it around. Im asking 300 obo cash and it will have to be picked up. I was a little delayed in posting these pics from the swapmeet a week and a half ago, so I will push the pics of the WAAAM visit off until tomorrow. At the swapmeet there were a few pics of jeeps and racers I wanted to include in this post. But, I couldn’t leave the booth because the two times I did leave readers dropped by to say “hi”. My faithful photographer did make it out to snap some pictures, getting wet in the process, but couldn’t quite read my mind as to which pictures I wanted; Of course, my mind, like the rest of me, was cold that day, so I doubt there was much going on inside my mind for Ann to read.
As you can see, the booth design was compact, but efficient. Herm was nice enough to give me some front space. In exchange I even managed to sell something for him while he and his kids were off purchasing all kinds of deals (and he found a couple of astonishing deals on parts). I have books, tshirts, signage and, most importantly, warm liquids.
In this picture you can see Herm wheeling and dealing on the phone, with his son Richard to his right, and their friend Dan to Richard’s right.
Here is a good example of the type of trailers that are brought in by sellers. Trailers are piled with as many parts and pieces as they can put on them. The building in the background is full of sellers and is only one of several buildings. Many more sellers were outside.

Here are the first three issues of Jeep Comics from 1944. As far as I can tell, only three issues were created with jeeps on the front (at least, I can’t find any others). You can these covers here: http://superitch.com/?p=14130

The new listing has more pics and makes it appear that the jeep has been well taken care of (with the exception of those yellow lights on the grille — oh the inhumanity!).

1956 willys 2 wheel drive harley davidson rod truck. Very fun. This pickup started out a 4 wheel drive, but has been changed to 2 wheel drive by switching to a 1954 willys 2 wheel drive pickup complete front end. Has new orig. front brakes and wheel clyinders, new master clyinder.
The rear end is a 1986 Ford F150 8.8 with 3.55 posi. with rear stabilizer bar, all nicely fitted to orig. willys rear springs, has nice aluim. drive shaft. Engine and tranny are out of 1989 HO mustang GT, so its a 5.0, five speed. The 5.0 or 302 ford V8 is all rebuilt, its a roller cam roller and rocker very high performance, mean sounding engine, it has new high compression TRW forged domed pistons and plasma rings. Comp. cams 294 roller cam and comp cams triple valve springs. Trickflow hardened push rods. Heads are 1969 351 windsor completely rebuilt and ported, fitted with 194 stainless manley intakes and 160 exhaust valves. Has a 2 four barrel edelbrock set up, also running a windage tray and racing oil pan.
This engine is all new and runs, drives, and sounds great, with headers and flows that dump below orig. willys running boards. Has all new clutch kit, new alum. radiator with elect. fan, runs nice and cool. Has been rewired with a painless wire set up, 12 volt, and has new one wire 110 amp alternator and new battery. Cab is all finished inside with nice black headline & carpet, ford mustang bucket seats, done with harley davidson covers.
Harley theme inside and out. Body and paint are left undone for a rough image, but in good shape if someone wanted to restore it, but most people like it the way it is. It has a lot of character and gets a lot of attention.”
