Unusual Willys Bugish thing from Cuba

• CATEGORIES: Features, Unusual

Ori forwarded me this image take by Danny Koro during a visit to Cuba.  You can see the ‘Willys’ stamp on the hood, which indicates the hood has been trimmed.  It sure is unusual.  You can see more info about the post here:

Eurpoean Junk Pile

• CATEGORIES: Features, Old Images

I spotted this image at several sites, but the largest version I found was at  I’m gonna guess, based only on the building in the right corner, that this pile of vehicles is somewhere in Europe.  Strangely, this image is used as a header image for an article on the importance of recycling and freecycling. And I think the image is supposed to reinforce the importance of recycling and the problems of waste.  I believe the irony of the use of this photo with the article is that these vehicles were in fact piled as a first step in their recycling process (for their reuse in steel).

1957 FC-150 Larimore, ND $1000

• CATEGORIES: FC150-FC170-M677

This is a project.

“Here is your next project.

1957 Jeep FC150. This will need a TOTAL restoration and will need to be towed.

It has the 134 Hurricane 4 cylinder and is 4 wheel drive. I was told the engine ran and it looks to be complete (and not stuck).

Needs extensive body work, Drivers side rear lug nuts have all broken off, so will need new studs to roll. (have a fork lift available to help load onto your trailer)

The frame and drive train all look like they are in good shape. I do have some extra parts that go with it like a spare dash and instrument cluster, spare heater, brake controls with master cylinder, clutch pedal assembly, a few glass pieces.

This project is not for the faint of heart, but when done, it will be a head turner! I get comments on it sitting in my shop all the time!

I need the space in my shop. I am putting it on here for a few days and if it does not sell within this time frame, I am going to pull the ad and move it back to my house and slowly work on it when I have the time. I have too many projects that take priority over this one so I would really like to see this go to someone who is going to be able to put the work into it rather than let it sit.

I do not NEED to sell it, so fairly firm on the price with only a little room to negotiate. (no offers for half of asking price).

I would be willing to consider a trade for an inverter type TIG welder with high frequency start that can weld aluminum or a large media blasting pot with deadman controls. Might consider a trade for guns.

It has the keys and a clear title.

$1000 or best REASONABLE offer. As I said, if it does not sell, I will put it in my garage at the house and let it sit until I can get the time to work on it. I am taking a loss at my asking price.

There are not many of these around anymore. Now is your chance to own a piece of Jeep history!

Email with any questions or to set up a time to take a look at it.”

1957 CJ-6 Calhoun, Tx **SOLD**

UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was $1500.

(04/06/2011) This needs a few things.

“No Title, This is a 1950’s CJ-6 Jeep that has been parked for over a year…. It ran when I parked it, needs a battery. CJ-6, there were only a few thousand make to my understanding. You could probably apply for an abandoned title if you wish to drive on the street with it…. This is a great jeep. Needs newer tires (dry rot) and a decent seat. A tune-up would probably do wonders on this. I am not a mechanic and do not have time to restore this as I wished. No e-mails…. They will not be answered. ”

1958 DJ-3A Ozark, Mo *SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1600.

This has a GPW engine in it.

“I have an old Willys flat fender Jeep 4×4. It is similar to a CJ3A. It is four wheel drive and looks like an old WWII jeep. It has a rebuilt flat head 4 cylinder engine. The engine is a Ford GPW engine with F-script bolts. It has been converted over to a GM style alternator and 12 volt. It ran nice when I bought it but I tried to adjust the timing and haven’t been able to get it to stay running well. Cranks over great. This is not a daily driver but a fun project jeep. I have too many projects and hate to see it go but times are tough. I DO NOT HAVE A TITLE !!!! I did a search on the VIN and it was titled as a 1958 DJ3A which was a 2 wheel drive version of the CJ3A. The body it has is that of a DJ3A and does not have the “lip” that you have to step over to get in. It has a canvas top and doors with it but the top will need repaired. ONLY SERIOUS INQUIRIES PLEASE. This is a great little jeep that would be a fun driver or farm jeep. It leaks oil/gear lube at several seals. Email any questions. Asking $1600.00 or best offer. Might do partial trade for guns, utility atv or tools”
