Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1957 FC 150 FOWARD CONTROL JEEP Truck runs and drives 4×4 works has lock out hubs Electric fuel pump, gm alt. The jeep has a excellent bed on it with tailgate and fenders. The jeeps cab could use some work in the front lower corners and some in the rear corners.(truck comes with rear section of cab for parts) It comes with a good windsheild, both quarter glass and a rear glass. This jeep also comes with a complete 4spd set up for a fc150 (mounts,bolts,shafts,etc.. )This would take care of the slow 3spd trans. This is a list of other stuff that comes with it. Extra set of headlight buckets w/chrome bezels .turn signals,lenses,bezels. Set of front fender flares( orig. fiberglass )2 orig gas tanks with 1 set of straps.Spare carb. 1 frame section w/ counterweight. 2 Heaters.Extra set of seat brackets.Seats are in very good cond. 2 xtra doors 1 good, 1 parts. 2 dashes 1 perfect dash uncut. Front fan cover pan.”

I’d say that front bumper doesn’t look too original either. But price looks pretty good.

UPDATE: Brian picked this up today. He reports it has a near perfect GPW body with a MB frame. The engine has a Ford head with a 2a or 3a block. It has a T84. It came with a 3a windshield.
This appears to be sagging a bit. The body doesn’t appear too bad, but can’t tell for sure.

(09/12/2010) The seller hasn’t tried to start, but I bet it wouldn’t take much to start it. It looks like it is complete enough to go.

Apparently this has a Navy Tag.
“For sale a very nice 1953 Jeep Willys CJ3B. This Jeep does have a Navy tag so it was used by the Navy. The drive train is all original and it runs and drives perfect. It does have the 12 volt conversion but the rest is all original. The Frame is also perfect with no rust and the tub is very solid as well. I coated the frame and the tub with POR 15 so it is sealed up. The interior has very nice seats and I just put in a rubber floor covering. The jeep comes with the original military wheels and tires. For an extra $200 you can have the brand new Crager wheels and tires that are in the picture. Also with the sale is an extra windshield. The top is an arctic hard top which is very rare. Everything works on this Jeep so it would make a great off-roader, restoration project, or even a good daily driver.”

(10/10/09) There’s nothing I see to indicate this is a M-38 body, accept for the dash panel. But, it’s missing the battery box lid, the jockey box in the dash, drain holes, and a gas inlet at the very least.
“Up for sale is a nice 1946 Willys the original four cylinder is out and I have it but there is a V-6 under the hood and runs out good with lots of power. It is a M-38 Military body. There are 35-12.5-15’s on the jeep now but I also have a new set of 31”s for the jeep if you want smaller tires. This is ONE SWEET JEEP!!! Call for more Imf. ”

“A good winter project, flat OD green, orginal 4 cylinder flathead motor and drivetrain would make a cool hunting jeep. Needs a battery and some TLC but runs and drives pretty good, has brakes, has brand new mud/snow 6.50X16 tires, I have an excellent windshield frame with good glass and extras like ammo cans, military gas can, spare wheel etc. I also have a brand new set of military canvas seats that could be bought separate or maybe part of the deal. No title, just a bill of sale. If you need a title you can get one through broadway title or one of the other title companies, cost $120 and takes 10 days.”
