Pictures: A handcrank heater and M37

• CATEGORIES: Features, News

If my addition is correct, readers have located 6 rare Stewart handcrank heaters in the US & UK.  They are rare enough that the antique Road Show people couldn’t get any information about them from their buyers (see the 2nd to last post on this page).

Dennis, who’s heater is featured here, decided to fire up his heater at night, creating this cool picture.  He also sent an unrelated artsy pic of an M37 he thought he’d share.  Thanks!

When the jeep was parked it was running with the new motor, but it needed new wiring. The jeep does have the hood, tailgate, and door frames…”

1965 Tuxedo Park CJ-5 Fremont, Ca $4500

1965_tuxedopark_cj5_fremontThe pics aren’t the greatest, but it sounds like this is in excellent shape!

“1965 Willy’s Tuxedo Park 20Th Anniversary CJ 5 These jeeps are very rare!!! 225 cu V-6. Holly 400 cfm 4 barrel carb on an Edelbrock manifold. Headers, Overdrive, Full Cage Roll Bar, 11 inch Brakes, Duel gas tanks, Front locking hubs,Tilt and Power Steering and an after market heater. Here are some pictures. I`m going to put it up on a lift and get some pics of frame and running gear for those of you that want more. It`s never had a break or crack in the frame. I even have the original key that came with the jeep when purchased new. It had a single shift transfer case that my dad changed the shifter handles on. You know how those old school folks are. This jeep was set up right. It has a long stroke motor with small primaries in the carburetor for good low end torque and good gas mileage and secondaries for good performance. Its the only 225 I’ve ever seen with a 4 barrel. Not to say they’re not out there. It has 39.000 original miles. With a little cleaning and a nice paint job it would look like new. It has a little dent in the hood and at the bottom of the door. When I say little I mean very little. This jeep was my fathers and he took very good care of it. He passed away 2 years ago and its been sitting outside. It was in the garage for the first 42 years of its life. Its going to be hard to see it go. I would like to see it go to someone who would take care and enjoy it like my dad did. I will send you more pictures if you want. Thanks for looking and hope you like what you see. Steve.   My Email is”

1948_cj2a_pontiacUPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,500.

I found this ad interesting because the seller says he got an appraisal of $12,500 from Southern Motors (a car seller?).  It appears to be restored, however the pics make some of the parts of the body look a little rough (it could be the pics). The drive train and transmission sound stock to me.

“1948 WILLYS Jeep, 406 CI Motor, 4 BBL, 194 Camelback Early Corvette Heads, 3 Speed Trans, 538 Axle, Completely restored inside and out. Engine and Transmission rebuilt less than 500 miles on rebuild. Lots of power. New LTX Ms Michlin 31 X 10.5 R 15 tires.”

The new eWillys?

I spent the day pondering a new design for ewillys.   One goal was to get more of a script for the ewillys brand that I could use to create t-shirts, etc with.  Also, I wanted to reorganize things a bit.  Finally, I want to more tightly incorporate the dynamic areas into the overall design (similar to what I have tested in the current design).  NOTE:  I haven’t filled in anything in the sidebar, but most of the side bar info on the current design would appear in the sidebar of the new design.  click on the pic to get the full effect.

1960 FC-170 Dayton, WA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: FC150-FC170-M677

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3700

While the outside on this looks very good, the engine is frozen.  The seller presents a variety of comparison prices to make the case for the price.

“After much agonizing, I’m selling my 1960 Jeep FC170 cabover pickup (flatbed). Good body, presentable interior, nearly new tires. All original running gear: 3-speed, two-speed transfer case, locking hubs. Hurricane 6-cylinder engine is frozen (rod?). Clear title, current license. This will be a very easy restoration for a collector, or can be a real workhorse with either the same engine or with a 350 swap (adapters are available commercially). Why sell it? Running out of time this year, with too many family medical issues to deal with, and enough other 4×4’s that this one isn’t really needed. Call for more info or pictures. ”
