1952 CJ-3A Pendleton, KY **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1300

It looks rough. Apparently, the previous owner lacked some mechanical skills …

“i have a 1952 cj3 a willys jeep for sale or trade. over all the jeep for its year its in good shape but if someone was wanting to restore to original it would take a lot but something to look cool and just a fun toy to drive and work on this is a great project. right now it does run and drive and all the doors, windows and snow plow and heat works and it has a koigin metal works hard top on it that is in great shape. the things that are wrong with it is someone put a ford 170 straight six in it and to make it fit they had to cut up the floor board and fire wall a little and they did a horrible job patching it back together but it does keep the air out for the most part. they used an advanced adapters kit to put the ford in it so about and ford with the right bellhousing will bolt up to the transmission and it is the original transmission and tranfercase. the brake master cylinder leak a little and the only other thing i can really think of that is wrong with it is the front end. i was playing around in it and i broke the front spider gears so the front axle doesnt pull but the transfercase works and everything…..”

1949 CJ-2A Cranberry Township, Pa eBay

The serial number of 154827 suggests this is actually a 1948 not a 1949. There’s been a great deal of work and money spent on this judging from the chrome and clean lines.

” Has a Pennsylvania clear title, not a reconstructed.  Vehicle is exceptionally clean, starting with the body: new all steel replica tub, front fenders, hood, grill assembly and 2-piece windshield from original vehicle. Has premium tailgate with Willy’s logo and shell has a glove box. There is no body filler on this vehicle.  Paint is acrylic enamel with hardener and gloss additive, wet sanded and buffed. The color is General Motors Fleet White. Paint brand was DelStar…. Any further questions you can contact me, Mario, on my cell phone at: 412.292.6152 or email to:”

1946 CJ-2A Brentwood, Ca For Trade

I believe this has a MB Grille and windshield, but the other parts appear to be CJ-2A.

“I have a ’46 Jeep Willys MB. Everything is stock. Its been my project for quite some time. Its 4×4, flathead 4 cylinder manual 3 speed. I have done a lot of engine work. Replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, starter, alternator, regulator, front brakes, water pump, hoses, belts, etc.. It still needs work but the engine turns over and runs. It has a non op and i have the pink in hand. The body is straight but it needs a little bondo and paint. This is a true classic off road vehicle. I’m looking to see what else is out there for trades. I’d be interested in an older stepside or other 4×4. either project or running. If interested contact”

My Build: More Progress on the Cage

The cage is starting to take shape.  It’s only tacked together at the moment and the ‘spreader bars’ between the front and back loop are still PVC.  The lower of the spreader bars isn’t at the correct angle either, but the real bar should be in by tomorrow.

hotrodshiftknobsUPDATE: The site is temporarily offline due to a move. It should return shortly.

Are you looking for a Hot Rod Shift Knob? There are some unusual ones at

From the website, Welcome to Hot Rod Shift Knobs, where shifters go to find their perfect knob. I started this biz as a kustom car, hot rod and classic car lover, and opened my first store House O’ Speed. I thought there oughta be place where people with rat rods, traditional hot rods and just about anything in between could find unique shift knobs for their rides. Ceramic shift knobs, antique glass door knob shift knobs, pewter sand-cast shift knobs, glitter shift knobs, marbleized knobs, nostalgia knobs, vintage grenade shift knobs, skull knobs, shrunken head knobs, custom one-of-a-kind shifts knobs that are hand-painted using candies, metallics and high-end automotive finishes. You won’t find the run of the mill stuff here, folks….

Below are examples of their Frankenstein Knob options.

You can also see some really strange ones at Pirate 4×4’s Cool Shift Knobs thread.

1946 CJ-2A Chesterfield, MI **SOLD**

1946_cj2a_chesterfieldUPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4300.

The owner is selling it to buy an engagement ring.

“I have a 1946 Willys overland mb jeep. This is the military wrangler. This particular one is the first year of production of these vehicles for the publice while still implementing parts used on the military model. It is appx. 90% original with the updated 12 volt system. Tires that are less than 3 months old. There is no rust any where, and everything works. It is a perfect vehicle for driving on nice summer days, or if you have a place you can take it through the woods, you will never get stuck. It has the famous 4 cyl original Flathead motor that runs great. The suspensions and all other mechanical systems are in great shape. The 4 wheel drive will never let you down. I am only selling it to pay for an engagement ring and hopefully a wedding if everything goes to plan. I am looking to get 4300 out of it. I have spent so much time and money, but now I really need to sell.  Email the post if you are interested. Or call 586 850 0853 This is a link to a youtube video I have made going around the jeep and the attached pictures should show anything you would want to see. If you come out you will not be disappointed.”

jeep_us41_orgTravis:  Maybe this will answer any Lift questions you have 🙂

I’m not sure who operates the website (I couldn’t find his name, but saw his picture), but he has put together a long, well written webpage on Lifts.

Here’s an excerpt from the page: Whether or not you off-road in your Jeep, you will eventually catch the Jeep bug, and you will find yourself suffering from “Lift Envy.” Lift Envy is a disease that causes Jeep owners to lust after higher lifted vehicles with bigger and bigger tires underneath them every time a “superior” Jeep drives past. But what the heck is a lift, and what is involved in going bigger? This article explains it all.

Our top notch Israeli bureau spotted this sad looking truck.  This sure looks like a Last Ride parts vehicle to me.

“This truck is being sold as is we are looking for the title and may need to file for a lost title. Pick up only. The radiator is missing, I removed the spark plugs and will check to see if the pistons move, the gas tank has been removed and is in the bed, serial number is 4WD-44899 I believe that makes it a 1949 model.”

1940s MB/CJ-2A San Luis Obispo, CA **SOLD**

1940s_mb_sanluisobispoUPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4700

I’m not sure what the model is.

We aren’t too sure of what exact year it is but we did find out that it could be in between the years of 41-51 body style. The engine we know was taken out of another jeep a little newer then the body. Its an F-head with the valve cover on top so it was taken out of a jeep from the years 53-63. We found that it’s very common for people to switch out the engines from that year because it’s better performance.   The jeep has very little rust and all of it is surface rust that we can find. It doesn’t have a transmission unfortunately or i would be driving it. i have a magazine that sells parts for jeeps and we found a transmission for it and it would only cost about 1500 dollars which isn’t bad for this old of a jeep. I would fix it up myself but i don’t have money and i really need a vehicle. Right now it’s an open title.”

1946 CJ-2A Shippensburg, Pa $800

Here’s a VEC CJ-2A with a snow plow.  The body doesn’t sound good.  No pics just yet.

“Just a feeler – I have an early 46 CJ2A with title. This is a column shift jeep that was a local find. It currently has a plow on the front, the frame is good on the jeep, needs new floor pans and windshield. It is a flat head 4 cylinder that I was told was used up until last year when the individual that owned it passed away. I have not tried to fire the engine up because there is no fuel tank and I wanted to change the oil first. Engine is complete all the way to the air filter and I have no reason to believe it won’t start right up. They were using a marine gas can in the back of the jeep to run it when they drove it but I left that there when I picked it up. Definately a diamond in the rough but the jeep sits up nice – tires are dry rotted but hold air. Pictures available upon request and if I have time later this evening I will post a few. I was keeping this one to fix up but have found a different project for $800 that I would like to buy instead.”

1945 Militarized CJ-2A – Sanford, ME **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $14,500

“Newly restored ”cloned Willys MB. This is a 1945 CJ2A modified to look like a 1944 MB. It is 99% done. It needs a little touch-up on the paint and a rear seat. I spent Thousands of dollars on new parts. I have all records of purchased items. I put one size larger tires on it to increase fuel mileage and travel speed. It runs and drives like new. The engine is smoke free and I changed the voltage to a 12-volt system for better lighting and dependability. I also added turn signals and a second rear brake light for safety. I also added new style seat belts to make it a safer vehicle. The entire Willys has been sandblasted primed and painted with late WW11 319 OD. I spent many hours disguising the CJ2A look. I would like to keep all the bags and supply’s that are all over it. The Shovel, Axe, Jerry can, rope and spare tire will stay with it.I still need to install the battery hold down. The top and seats are brand new, they are thicker than originals to make the ride a bit smoother. I also have a new glove box to install to make the dash look like the MB. The drive train is the way I bought it, so I don’t know how many miles are on them, but it goes down the road smooth.( I love it). The only reason for selling it is, I recently found a real 1942 GPW that needs restoring. I put about 1500 miles on it these past few months with no problems. The odometer reads about 7,000 miles. This is a nice vehicle that will last a long time with some care. Please call with any questions or if you want more pictures …. I also have some CJ3A parts for sale: Fisher plow set-up, complete windshield with new gaskets, new wiper motors, tool box cover, heater unit, new front seat frames, and complete drive line”

UPDATE:  Still Available.

If the seller really has 3.56 gearing, I’d like to know more about the tranny.  I also wonder if the OD trans is really a warn OD?  Seems a bit redundant to have both 3.56 gearing and the OD.  Toledo Or is west of Corvallis, Or, almost all the way to the coast.  Given the location, I imagine the seller will have to drop the price.
