Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1949 Jeep Jeepster willys kaiser. Fully rebuilt flathead 4, all new parts. New motor. Bored .100 over. 3 speed on the tree. New gas tank, oil cooling system, battery, wiring(numbered), paint, shocks, exhaust. All lights work. Lots of extra parts. Convt top missing, but skeleton there and in ok shape. Convertible top is manual. This car runs and drives. Body is far from perfect, it has some rust and minor dents. Nice red paint on top of all of that I just mentioned. (04/25/2015) I’m sure the year isn’t right, but I do think this is a CJ-2A.
“Posting this Jeep for my dad. Its a 1941 Jeep Willys 4×4 with plow. He has used it to plow his small private road the last few years and it ran great. He has been ill off and on with Cancer and he couldnt get it to start one day and though something was wrong with the carter WO 1bbl carb so he messed with it. Come to find out it was simply a charging issue that was fixed but now I believe he has the carb settings thrown off and the float level off and it wont start good and when it does it wont stay running. Probably could use a carb kit put on it anyways “around 30 bucks on ebay ” or a good cleaning as I believe it to be the original carb and motor. At any rate he is looking to sell or trade it for a tractor with a blade or garden type hydro tractor with snowplow or blower to do his drive and road with. Something he can handle a lil easier. Looks solid. Includes a PTO. Some rust in the rear.
“1959 Jeep Willys FC170 3/4 ton pickup. Cab is in great shape with original paint, all good glass, recovered seats, new brakes, new tires. Runs and drives good. The bed floor and tailgate are rusty. Factory PTO set up to run farm equipment. The engine smokes a little and has a slight knock from a spun bearing. The bearing was replaced but the crank is scored. I have another good crank to go with it. It has been in storage for about 5 years.”

“Too many toys, not enough time left to finish… This little cab-over Willys 4×4 with some finishing TLC, could be a real show stopper… It has a 283 CI rebuilt Ford engine, with an added air tunnel for excellent cooling. It comes with near new tires, chrome wheels and a small lift kit. The bed sits on new mounts and comes with a side toolbox, the body is in primer with a minimal amount body work left before painting. The new re-wiring is more than 75% finished…. “1947 JEEP WILLYS CJ2 49K oringinal miles. My father and I bought this Jeep locally in the hopes of bringing it back to life. We have both been too busy to work on it which is the reason we’re selling it. As most of you know, these are extremely hard to find collector Jeeps. It is in pretty good condition in comparison to a lot of other Willys I’ve seen for sale. The flat-head four cylinder is out of it right now however can easily be put back in. The windshield frame is from the military version and is very rare. We are willing to deliver for the price of mileage. (03/27/2010) Check out the unusual updates on this. For example, note the welded tailgate at an angle.
“1949 Willys Jeep. $3,000 or best offer! 12 Volt System. 4 Cylinders. 4×4. The Jeep needs a little work. It ran two years ago, I did not try to start it.”
This truck was headed towards a crusher until Carl saved it. He’s not sure what he’s going to do with it, but he felt there was too much value to have it crushed. Note the custom wheel creation.
“Here are the pictures of the 55 Willys as I found it in a scrape metal collectors yard, it has its original running Super Hurricane engine 4 wheel drive components, head lights, park lights and dash all in tack, 20″ wheels were welded to the original 16’s and it spent the last few years hauling fire wood in rural Newfoundland. It had been abandoned and was set to go to the crusher when I found it and hauled it home. Not sure at this point what I will do with it, it’s safe for now.”
Leave it to Popular Science Magazine to publish a brief reference about using a Jeep to mix cement. This article (or retro-article) was issued in the Feb 1974 edition.
Dan spotted these (truth be told, Dan has spotted a number of deals tonight!) I believe these are 8″ wide hurricane rims; these have the same number of fins as my wheels.
“I have a set of four Modern aluminum wheels. They came with my Jeep CJ5 when I bought it last summer, and I wanted to go back to some stock steelies. They measure 15×8 with a 5×5.5 bolt pattern and 3.75″ backspacing. Comes with all 20 lugnuts and two center caps (have locking hubs on the front and PO didn’t have the other two anymore). They’re in good shape, maybe a little dusty, but no cracks/dings/dents, blah blah blah. All of them hold air perfectly, in fact I replaced all the valve cores about a week ago. I have 31×10.50s with stock springs (with 40 years of sag) and had no rubbing issues for what that’s worth.”

Here’s a pair of wagons. Maybe they will equal a whole one.
