“1960 willys jeep for sale. great condition. 4×4. Flathead Hurricane 6 original motor, ~100,000 miles. Was in the movie, “A Plumm Summer.” Painted like a sheriff vehicle. runs great, and always starts, may need to have the piston rings replaces, but all the seals were just redone. cheep to insure, and a great vehicle, some custom work was done to the back seats to turn them into side benches. this jeep has all original parts, except for 1 missing rear seat, but i have the replacement in storage.”

It comes with a fully enclosed soft top with doors for the winter and a bikini top for the summer. Runs great! We are asking $4,500 but will take any reasonable offer.”

From the Sunday News (and Duke University’s Digital Collection Archives) comes this October 7, 1945, contest advertisement. What I find very interesting is the color scheme. I do not recollect seeing any jeeps with this color scheme. Does anyone know if this was a custom color scheme of some kind for Pepsodent or simply an artist’s creative license?
I was doing some research on GBW’s FC 170s when stumbled upon several Jeepster prototypes listed at the American Jeepster Club along with some other Jeepster specific information. Below I reference 3 prototypes found on the history page. Please visit the American Jeepster Club’s ‘Willys-Overland Jeepster History’ page to learn more. The fourth image is a 1979 Jeepster Prototype press release I found at offroaders.com — it seems to me it was a good idea NOT to develop this one.

“This is a 1963 Willys cj3b in very good condition. This jeep was in one family since 1978. It is almost rust free with just a very small spot where the spare tire hanger bolts on the side. It runs and you can drive it but the brakes will need some work. This cj3b is very rare in this condition. All the numbers match on this jeep, and it has a new set of military type tires on it. “I have a set of 4 aluminum slot mag wheels that are in very nice shape. The bolt pattern is 5 on 5.250 with a 4″ center opening. These came off of a 1960 jeep willys that I got but I think they may also fit ford or may fit some old buicks or olds, not to sure on it. The slot mags are in very nice shape. Give me a call, I’m asking $150 for the set and I will also through in a steel spare.I would trade for a set of 4, 235-75r-15 white letter tires.”

This is a project with a bunch of new parts, including an entire fiberglass body kit.
“I have a jeep for sale that i started a couple years ago, and i don’t have the time to complete. I started by putting later model cj-5 axles under it, and purchasing a 4” rusty’s offroad lift. I added terraflex “revolver” shackles as well. I bought new gear sets for both front and rear, and new OX lockers to match. Included as well is a one piece axle kit. For tires i bought 34×10.50 super swamper LTB. There are many misc. parts as well that go, but too many to list. ***ALSO INCLUDED IS A NEW FIBERGLASS BODY KIT INCLUDING TUB, FENDERS, AND HOOD.*** there is the factory grille and windshield frame as i thought they would hold up better than a fiberglass one. well over 6000 invested, sell it all for 3500.”

“THIS IS A VERY OLD AND ROUGH WILLYS FC-150 JEEP. IT IS NOT ROAD WORTHY, AND MOST LIKELY NEVER WILL AGAIN. MATTER OF A FACT IT HAS ONE WHEEL OR MORE IN THE JUNK YARD. I FIGURED BEFORE I TURN IT OVER FOR SCRAP I WOULD GIVE ANYONE WHO MIGHT USE IT FOR A FEW PARTS A CHANCE. ALL THE RUNNING GEAR IS STILL WITH IT. THE WHEELS STILL TURN AND BY SOME MIRICLE STILL HOLD 30 PSI OF AIR. IT HAS BEEN SITTING AROUND FOR A GOOD 10 YEARS THE BODY IS SHOT, MOST WINDOWS ARE DAMAGED.
