1943? MB? La Pine, OR **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $799

The body has a tailgate, so I doubt it’s an MB.  It looks more like a parts jeep.

“For Sale a 1943 MB Willys Jeep project, title in hand for $799 CASH OR BEST OFFER. I was in the process of making it into a fun driver and as such the tub in the pics is sitting on a postal Jeep 2WD chassis. The tub is NOT yet mounted. There is a good ’80’s Nissan pickup 4 cylinder engine and manual transmission mounted in the chassis. I also have other miscellaneous parts and pieces that will be sold as one lot including but not limited to the original chassis with front and rear axles, transmission, transfer case, etc. Most of the original Jeep body parts are usable. I DO NOT have the windshield frame. I’m sorry but PLEASE don’t call if you know nothing about old Jeeps and just want ask a million questions. Also do not call if you need a running, driving Jeep. THIS 67 YEAR OLD JEEP IS A PROJECT THAT WILL REQUIRE A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF TIME, EFFORT AND MONEY TO COMPLETE. PLEASE DO CALL if you seriously are looking for a project, or need parts for your project. Also please be aware that if you purchase this Jeep you will be responsible to load it up and haul it off yourself with your trailer. ”

1946 CJ-2A Sterlington, La $2000

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A, Unusual This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This needs some work, but looks pretty good.  It also looks like it has been stretched a bit in the front of the body and the front axles looks forward a bit too, suggesting this isn’t a standard frame.  Maybe it’s a truck or CJ-7 frame?

“This would be a great hunting and/or trail rig. It has a chevy 4.3 v6, power steering, duel exhaust, 31×10.50 mud tires with 95% tread, trailer hitch, 3 speed manual trans, and 2 stick transfer case. This Jeep has been put up for several years and could use some work. Here’s what I know it needs: The front diff needs new spider gears ($100.00 from 4wd.com), could use the right rear brake drum replaced, and needs a tune-up. The broken spider gears were removed and the axel was cleaned and refilled with oil, so it does drive. (318) 355-5223 if interested.

1958 M-606 Needles, Ca $5500

• CATEGORIES: M-606 (military CJ-3B) • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Still Available

This M-606 includes a Navy ID Plate — very rare based on what I’ve seen.  The dashboard arrangement isn’t something I’ve seen. Get it while it lasts.

“US Navy 1958 CJ3B Willys Jeep with Willys Overdrive. Original 4Cyl F Head Engine. Tow bar. CB Radio. Original USN vehicle numbers. Slightly modified with roll bar and bucket front seats. Could easily be returned to original. Battleship grey and military tires. I am a navy vet and owned this jeep for over 20 years. It has been extremely reliable and bullet proof. Extremely rare military vehicle. Most survivors are army or marine issue. If your a vet especially a navy vet, this is your chance to relive a little of the past. Sadly, it is time they we both must depart and move on. I will miss my shipmate and the new owner must promise to take good care of her.”

1951 CJ-3A Chelan, WA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was $250.

Not a whole lot of value left on this CJ.

“Basically, I have a completely unrestored, and non running CJ. Early willys. CJ2a windshield. A little cancer, all parts are there. Flat fendres, grill tail gate, original axles, tranny/tcase. Ford motor, disassembled at the heads, probably not even rebuild able.

I’ve had guys come look at this expecting more. When I say it needs a restoration I mean it. This is not a parts gold mine… Its old, its rusty and incomplete. Best used as parts, have panels taken from it, etc. I was going to take a Cherokee, and salvage all the parts from it to put into the Willys, but whatever you guys want. Its cheap enough, and price is negotiable it needs to move in 3 weeks or else it his the scrap yard.  And yes the Capstan winch is GONE; no title”

• CATEGORIES: Builds, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  John informed that he successfully adopted a 1959 CJ-5 that will complete his ‘family’.  It looks like it’s a great, straight CJ with a good foundation for a rebuild.  Congrats John!

John writes, “Dave, Our new family arrival, a 59 cj5. This unit came without eng. & trans & fer. It will get a Dauntles & org. trans & fer, & O/D. I’ll replace all floor pans , the rest of the tub is very good. It will get a four point cage. Disc front brakes, 11″ rear. Painted to match its stable mates.”

Here’s a few pics:

John shared this ‘family’ photo with me.  He noted that he’s hoping to adopt a 1959 CJ-5 to complete the family. You can see pics of ‘Brownie’ (CJ-3A) here.  And, some closeups of Brownie here.

1945 VEC CJ-2A (77th Produced) — Elkins, Nh eBay

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Mike notes the general consensus on this VEC is that maybe only the frame and running gear is from the ’45.

With a serial number of 10,077, this is an early CJ-2A.   Unfortunately, it appears someone spray painted this wildly.  Interestingly, it is missing the tool indents.

“This Jeep is the 77th Civilian Jeep manufactured by Willy’s and includes a ” 3 Point Hitch ” for the Farmers of America. The engine is a “Flat Head 4 cylinder that runs good ….no smoke”. The shift for this jeep is a 3 speed on the column. The tires are new and are mounted on original solid Jeep rims.  The brakes have been worked on. There has been some body work and the Jeep was painted recently. Mechanically the Jeep is in good condition but will require some tinkering (TLC)….”

1944 MB Tucson, Az $2750

• CATEGORIES: MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The seller indicates this is an easy restoration.  I’m less sure about that.

“Good candidate for restoration into a very valuable piece of history. Currently selling for $10,000 plus in restored condition, this is an easy restoration. This Jeep is a late production unit and relatively complete, I can not see any rust through and has been an Arizona Jeep since released from the military 66 years ago. The engine is free, witnesses say it was running just before being parked, the sheet metal has some dents and damage but is certainly restorable, parts are readily available, and all four tires hold air. The original lights in front and rear are there including black out drive and park as is the original light switch. The floors are good and the original 6 volt army generator and large regulator are present. The fuel tank is missing as is the back seat frame. I have a few more pictures. Call 520-360-5074”

The body is in fair condition for the age. The floor pan either needs to be replaced or extensive work on the drivers side. I do not have the title, this jeep sat on a deer lease for a number of years. I paid $800 for the jeep last year, but am open to offers including possible trades for ???? Must get rid of soon.”

What Would You Do with Old Bumper Cars?

• CATEGORIES: Features, Unusual This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Thanks to Tommy for forwarding me this unusual story.  The story is that Californian Tom Wright had an opportunity to save these bumper cars from the Long Beach Pike Amusement Park from going to the dump. According to the coolthings.com website, “he took out the Harley motors, replaced it with 750cc Honda and Kawasaki boxes, and redesigned them to pass city driving standards.  His fleet now consists of eight crazy-looking street bumper cars (culled from different amusement parks), all licensed to give your hottest ride a run for its money.”  The rumor is that these could theoretically hit 160mph.  Personally, I will let someone else find that out!

The below image is from the coolthings.com website and the other pics are from an email circulating around the internet.

It looks a little rough, but solid.

“This is one badass Jeep. Engine: completely rebuilt 4 cylinder, very simple and easy to maintain but still strong enough for a 4×4 off-road vehicle. Runs great! Four wheel drive with modern tires and rims (spare included)
Three-speed, floor starter.  Paint is original US Issue Olive Drab Green with a white star on the hood. Its even got a row of machine gun bullet holes below the windshield. Straight out of M*A*S*H. Aftermarket roll-bar and bikini top. Overall its a great antique car with some military nostalgia.”
