The latest date published in this brochure is April of 1973, so my guess is that this was printed in mid-to-late 1973. It covers the history, mission, facilities, models, executive staff and other details. These aren’t he best scans, but they’d work for recording this bit of history.
Powr Matic 10-Spline 4WD Automatic Hubs
Jeff posted photos of these unusual hubs to Facebook. I’ve never seen a set. It appears they are 10 spline, automatic hubs. The name Powr Matic is stamped in three spots on the hub’s cover. Google searches weren’t any help either. There is a PowrMatic company that specializes in HVAC products, but there’s no evidence that they produced any hubs, though the company was around in the 1950s and 1960s.
So, anyone know anything about these?

Modified CJ-3B Littleton, CO $9000
This former ice-racing jeep got modified. The former owner’s son-in-law had some opinions about this on Facebook … “This was my father in laws jeep. If you knew Smitty you knew the proud ice racing history this jeep represented. Now it is a total piece of crap?. It is sad to see someone take a piece of local history and shit all over it…” ..
https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/littleton-jeep-cj6-srtetch-cj3b/7733629827.html
To this, which is for sale:
“After 8 years I am forced to give up my street rod project. 302 specification 4 bolt small block. Scrambler axles street geared, chrome side pipes…’98 Mustang convertible top.
Call to discuss I must accept probably nobody would finish what I started….the engine was supposed to be the best part when I bought Dirty George, a famous Colorado retired Ice Racer. Z28 spec 350 appears new inside, sounded great, but when it warmed up the engine “locked” and does so every time until it cools to restart for 5 minutes.
Duntov 40-40 cam, double hump heads etc. Big Holly leaks and would not be suitable for street use anyway…lots of spare parts one driveshaft is too long the other is too short after center-out transfer case was added with new torque converter on rebuilt transmission. 331 Jeep Scrambler axles replaced the 4;88 gears. Disc brakes. Power steering Chevy tilt steering column. Diagnosis is that rings were possibly not gapped properly on new pistons or too tight of skirts on the rebore. Scope down into spark plug holes indicates fresh parts. Oil pressure is great when running it is not the crank that seizes when it warms up. It had sat in dry storage for many years before I had a dream.”
1954 CJ-3B McDonough, NY $8800

“This is a near all original cj2a with m38. It is hard to tell which model because of the mix up of parts during their creation. The engine is an iron duke from a postal Jeep. Jeepsters and the Sunkist Lady
UPDATE: This Jeepster photo is making the rounds on Facebook; this post provides a little more info.
=================================
Posted December 24, 2020: This article provides more information about this stunt Jeepster and plane. It was published in the March 20, 1949, issue of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:
===================
Originally Published Dec 8, 2012:
The Sunkist Lady was an Aeronca 15AC Sedan airplane flown by Dick Riedel and Bill Barris used to set a world-record for endurance flight. They spent a total of 1008 hours and 2 minutes aboard the airplane, ending their flight in April of 1949. Unfortunately for them, their record was broken six months later.
What makes this relevant for jeep fans was that to keep the plan in the air, the crew used Jeepsters borrowed from local dealers to race down the airport runway so the crew could hand fuel and food to the two pilots.
