Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Toms shared this nicely restored CJ-3A. My only two very minor quibbles (given the price) is that it is missing the gutter where the hood meets the body, it’s got an incorrect oil bracket for a 3A (again, minor complaints).

“I have two jeep trucks, 1947 and a 1948. The 47 is 2wd the other is a half of a 4×4 that still has a motor and transmission.The 2wd one has no motor or transmission, and the frame is bad. Figured we will have them listed until my husband gets around to scrapping them, which will be soon”

This letter by David Mann about why he was buying a new jeep was included in a 1948 book for salesman.

Engine is complete but the head has been removed at some point though it’s in the van along with carb, etc. Needs new front glass, there are many auto glass companies that can provide it for $350-400. Odometer reads approx. 18000 but is surely 118000 miles. Let’s not talk about those European stamps posted to the exterior and interior, seems to be a point of contention when ever it’s brought up. 😂

This appears to have an extra shift lever (probably an overdrive). It also has a Koenig bed extender and a Sears-style half-cab. There could be some value here.
