I’d be very interested to know if the driver’s kidney issues improved once he his jeep driving days in the military were over. This article appeared in the February 21, 1946, issue of the Atlanta Constitution.
This 1944 newspaper photo of Santa in a jeep shows a military jeep with a taller-than-normal windshield, almost 2A like. This was published in the December 28, 1942, in the Bull Horn out of Norman, Oklahoma.
This press photo was taken March 30, 1947, at a Japanese department story where kids got to test out riding jeeps from a Japanese manufacturer who added “Kiroy was Here” to the dash. I don’t think these models of riding jeeps have been documented.

This looks like it may have been a full-page ad for Carl’s Motor company, despite the news stories sprinkled within. Note the photo of Bob Hope in a CJ-2A that seems to be promoting Carl’s Motors (I wonder if Bob Hope knew it).
As of December 1946, Wyoming County Schools in West Virginia still had 52 one-room schools attended by 1200 students. To serve and maintain those schools throughout the year, the county purchased a CJ-2A.

Roger Martin pointed me to a Facebook photo from the 1964 movie Ride the Wild Surf. Pictured is Shelley Fabares (who had a higher billing than her female co-star) and Barbara Eden. The beach party movie also starred Fabian and a DJ-3A Gala.

“CJ3B high hood flat fender. Original 4 cylinder replaced with 6 cylinder 1978 Maverick engine (200 cube, 120 horsepower). Has new windshield, just did not get installed before pictures were taken. “I have Two Willys JEEPSTER projects both are 1950. I have enough parts to build both vehicles. These are two door four seat convertibles (Phaeton) style vehicles. These are very nice custom builder projects with pallets of spare parts. One body is on a highly modified original frame with four wheel independent suspension and four wheel disk brakes. The other body does not include a frame and can easily be fit to a Toyota Four Runner chassis or something similar. A zero time Mercedes-Benz 300 Turbo diesel engine and transmission are available at an extra cost.”

“This is a CJ2A tub in overall very decent, solid condition. The previous owner had it sandblasted and started replacing rusted panels and supports…then let it sit outside for some time. The rust you see is mainly surface rust from sitting. The tool box has already been removed (and is gone), so this would be an ideal tub to stretch for a rock crawler project. Rear floor and wheel wells are in very good condition. The dash has not been all cut-up for extra gauges, radio, speakers, etc.”
There may be value here. Body and front clip look solid. This seems to have a PTO winch.

There might be some value in parts here, but what caught my eye was the unusual approach to installed a saginaw box. It looks like the frame was sliced and a new piece added on that has a hub to it.
