1945 MB Providence, RI $20,000

• CATEGORIES: MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Bill shared this MB for sale. Given the price, it’s a little surprising to see that this likely has a CJ-3A or  DJ-3A engine, along with an extra front crossmember and some patches on the front frame rails. Seller says it has combat rims, but I don’t see any in the pics.

1941 Reporter Article on the Blitz Buggy

• CATEGORIES: Bantam-FordGP-WillysMA-EarlyJPs, Features, Old Images, Old News Articles This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Associated Press Reporter Sigrid Arne was 47 years old when she rode in a Bantam BRC-60. By that time she was an experienced journalist, a fearless investigative reporter with the smarts to decode and explain New Deal programs to the point that the authors of the programs asked her to join their efforts. She traveled all over the United States, even buying a baby for $50 in Oklahoma at one point to expose how babies were being sold like groceries.

Her report on her first jeep ride sounds like she was thrilled/awed by her experience, but I’m unsure how she concluded that the Bantam had 9 speeds. Sigrid’s article landed in the Montana Standard on May 05, 1941, as well as other newspapers.

This ride wasn’t her last in a jeep, as we will see tomorrow morning.

This runs and has a Kelly hardtop.

https://www.facebook.com/commerce/listing/746192422638585

“Up for sale is my 1953 Willys Cj3B Jeep. This jeep is a project and would make a nice project for someone over the winter. The jeep runs and drives but needs brake work and a tune up and some electrical stuff with the lights sorted out. It hasn’t ran in a few months, but I have no doubt it will start and I’ll be putting a battery in it tomorrow and starting it. The brakes stop the jeep but not well. The body is rough. It’s been patched over and re-patched in some places. It has fiberglass front fenders. New shocks on the front. I do have new led tail lights for it, an orginal heater, and an electronic ignition module for the distributer that will be included. The top needs a little welding work. Tires are dry rotted bad and leak. A set of steel rims are included as well. I have a clean title in my name. Asking $1800 for this classic… who needs a side by side when you can have this?! Work on it over the winter and have a fun jeep to cruise in when it’s spring time. Sold as is.”
