Lots of information provided about this MB.

“WWII 1943 Willys Jeep, MB engine with Serial Number MB-250260 which matches the military depot data plate on the frame. It was rebuilt by the military on 10/14/1952 at Esslingen Ordinance Depot. The engine does turn over and is fairly original under the hood. The only thing not original for the era, is the voltage regulator for the generator. It has original gauges, but someone broke out the glass. Engine is mated to T84 transmission. It includes all seat frames front and rear, original fuel tank, 4 combat rims with used NDT and new tubes mounted. Also included is a set of top bows however they are for a M-38 and not an MB. They could be converted by welding. Original windshield frame is pretty rough but this jeep comes with another external windshield frame that could be used.
Bill shared this auction for a Jeepster chassis and body with no bids, but there are additional jeeps in the auction:

Given the extra body, this may be worth a look.

“1949 Jeep with spare parts Does not run, no engine, has spare tub, fenders hood, springs, drive shafts, body rough on extra tub and rolling jeep. Can be used as parts or to put back together, have Transmission and transfer case that can be rebuilt with newer synchros and small bearing kits included, not all new bearings are there. This Jeep is not put together. Pictures show it will roll, but tub will have to be loaded separately. I have a Nevada Title that goes with it, but not in my name, it was signed by the previous owner. I will not answer to is it still available, once it is sold, it will be marked as sold and removed”
Still 9 days left in the auction. Current high bid is $540.

“1954 Willys Flat Fender With everything except the engine . Bought for a project just don’t have the time .”
I am heading to SLC for a few days starting Thursday to visit with my kids. So, there may be limited updates for a few days.
This Hong Kong Extra Edition didn’t include a date, but the Volume and No suggests this is the September 1960 issue. Much of this issue covers the Hong Kong TV show, but there is some Surrey info on page six and seven. Also, the way the paper unfolds is kind of awkward, so I’ve added a few extra scans below.
Page two through page five are all connected physically. Here’s what it looks like when fully open:
Here are the pages in an easier to read format:
Tom shared this solid looking Mule.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1391467201406216
“Runs good, drives good, will take you anywhere. It’s a 1958 M274A4 mule with the magnesium frame, and a 2 cylinder Morse Fairbanks engine produced by Brunswick with only 189 hours, 3 speed manual with high and low. Also equipped with 4 wheel steer, and full time 4X4 and everything works. Comes with a winch, trailer hitch, has tons of lights. Everything on it works as it should, may need a new battery.”
Tom spotted this auction happening Nov 20th. The jeep is item #12 under the Catalog tab: https://onlinebidding.worleyauctioneers.com/Public/Auction/AuctionDetails?AuctionId=zykEIA08G8SGYWxTLaKi6w%3D%3D&pageNumber=pf6Q%2BhJtdeleDd9FfYpy9w%3D%3D&pagesize=O5OaPaZE1XrTjGtTQItkaw%3D%3D&filter=ITUHdU2DoqWvw89vAOs0Dw%3D%3D

“This a Script Ford GPW in need of a lot of work. Definitely worth saving, however I’m not the guy for this one. It was part of a bulk purchase I did in order to get the one I wanted. It is crusty, but has a motor trans and transfer and axles. Haven’t turned motor, and don’t have paperwork. It will take some research on your end, however It did come from an old timer that has had it forever, so its long off the books”
Are the front floors on this replaced or is it an optical illusion?

This 8-page issue of Jeep News starts with the announcement of the USPS’s purchase of 4,010 FJ-3s. Willys Motors announced on page 2 the launch of new brochures, including these red and blue jeep family brochures. Page 3 is all Surreys. Pages 4 & 5 are mostly dealer related. Don’t miss the Surrey like FC-170 on page 6 operated by the Hilton Inn of New Orleans. Page 7 shares more Surreys, FCs, and other jeeps. On the last page is a story about the First Company of Sheriff ‘Jeep’ Reserve Corps, out of El Paso County, Texas.
UPDATE: I originally posted this July 2, 2014. Thanks to Barry Thomas for the idea.
I’ve seen the cover of this September 21, 1945, issue numerous times, but never the interior story. So, here it is. Click on the story photo for a much larger version.
