“Complete. All parts are here. Was turning the flywheel to tighten bolts and it got stuck. Not sure what the problem is but there was no impact, just a slow turn by hand. Should be an easy fix. The previous owner told me that the engine had been rebuilt. I never got far enough to find out. It rolls and stops. The 12 volt battery is good. I bought a new regulator and stater for 12 volts. About $400 for those. Running would b worth over $5,000. I am thinking $3,000 or the best offer close to that. Clear title. Kept indoors.”
Given the price, it seems worth a look.

All the mods are downdraft instead of sidedraft carburetor and aftermarket wheels and tires. I have the original wheels with old tires on them.”

It’s not a rust bucket and would be fine on a ranch as-is, but it needs work. It would be a fun project for someone who has the room and the mechanical ability for a do it yourself project. “Hi there, for sale is my 1947 Willy’s Overland CJ2A. This little jeep has been an awesome vehicle, and doesn’t need much. It has the F-Head Hurricane Willy’s engine that was torn apart and completely gone through, along with the transmission and transfer case. Gaskets and seals were replaced and fresh oil throughout the drive train.
This will start on the first crank even after sitting for a couple weeks.
The differentials have fresh fluid and the manual hubs have been gone through.
The transfer case has a high and low range, and a front diff engage. Three speed transmission.
Newer drum brakes and it stops reasonably well
I drive it all over town and have had it on the freeway for short periods. It will go 50-55 fine, but should probably get some new tires if you plan on long freeway trips.
The Jeep is coated in a Linex type coating that is extremely tough. No rust on the Jeep, any old spots where cut out and repaired by the previous owner.”

I had hoped to have the race jeep all done by now so I could take it to the Moonshiner’s payday in Glenwood, but not this year. The priority shifted to Ann’s garden. She’s been such a big supporter of my jeep craziness over the years, that building her this garden was the least I could do. Now that the weather has cooled back down to normal temps, I should have the trip work around the pagoda and boxes done in the next couple of days.
The other thing that has slowed things down has been some weird health glitches. Hopefully, we have those issues under control and that won’t slow me down (for a while anyway).
Yesterday I finished up the seat mounts and the seat belt mounts on the racer. Next, the overhead dashboard needs finishing, but that is nearly done. After that, the side bars need mounting and the mud flaps setup. After that, the body and hood mounts need to be added. There are a few places that need some cleaning (read grinding) on the chassis, but otherwise it should be ready to clean and paint. So, almost there …
