1956 CJ-6 Antelope Valley, CA $3500

UPDATE: Price dropped to $3500.

(08/18/2019) It’s a project.

“New rebuilt 327ci with less than 50 miles.
Rebuilt by Adams Metallizing in Lancaster, CA

Newer axles from a 1975 CJ5

Power steering
Power brakes
Hydraulic clutch
3 speed manual T-15

New in box windshield glass
New in box steel dash
New in box black soft top with soft doors

Everyone kept suggesting a high performance build when rebuilding the motor. I had to remind everyone what it was going back into. That light weight body does not need a high performance built motor. The stock 327ci has enough to power that little jeep anywhere you need to go. By not being high performance it won’t be temperamental either.

1949? Universal Jeep Brochure

• CATEGORIES: Advertising & Brochures, Features

This 24-page Universal Jeep Brochure provides a look at both the CJ-2A and CJ-3A, with pics of both. That led me to believe this was most likely published in early 1949. Most of this appears to be images/info that we’ve seen bundled in other brochures and documents.

1943 Photo of Joe Louis Driving a Jeep

• CATEGORIES: Features, Old News Articles

This photo and caption about boxing champ Joe Louis driving a jeep made the Detroit Tribune newspaper on October 02, 1943.

The biographical book Joe Lewis: The Life of a Heavyweight includes a short look (pages 193-196) at his time in the military during WWII. The book explains that he had a unique opportunity to advocate for black troops, due to his substantial connection inside the War Department. He took advantage of his connections to overcome discriminatory practices that he witnessed.

1947 CJ-2A Irving, TX $6000

UPDATE: Still Available.

(08/29/2019) Has a unique look.

“I have a 1947 Willy’s Jeep cj2a 3 speed, 4×4. That has been in my family since 1947. It was my great grandpas, he used it on his farm in east tx. It sat in a barn for roughly 40 yrs until my grandpa restored it. It has been garage kept since then. After my grandpa passed away several years ago my mom got the Jeep and she gave it to me. I have no place to keep it besides in my back yard. It runs and drives, and attracts everybodys attention. I know it’s worth a decent amount of money, I’ve done my research. Im asking $8k or best offer or I’m considering trades just let me know what you have the worst I can say is no thanks.”

We did have it running a couple of times but with my grandfathers sickness we cant afford to keep it and work on it. We don’t currently have the key for it but we’re trying to find it so it may need a new ignition.”
