1953 CJ-3B: This green jeep is a 1953 CJ3-B – high hood. Project jeep for $1,500.
1953 CJ-3A: This blue jeep is a 1953 CJ3-A with a Buick V6. $1,500. The body is likely a lefty from a 2A (perhaps other parts are 2A too?)
I suspect the seller is wrong about the year.
“1946 CJ-2A , Body is rough, minor rust in left front corner of floor pan. Engine has compression but is not running. 3spd manual trans, pto winch .I pulled the carburator apart, blasted it with baking soda but havent got any further . Just too many projects. Driver seat was removed to work on fuel tank, I have it , it’s just not in the photo. The fuel tank is rusted badly and needs to be replaced. brake cylinders are frozen. vin did not match vin on title, had vin verified by chp and they added a blue tag to the firewall. all paper work is now clear and vehicle can be registered. This would be a fun project for someone that has the time. all questions cheerfully answered”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
(12/16/2012) Randy dropped by to see this Lefty. He reports it runs well and does not smoke, but he didn’t test drive it. The floors have been patched and the hat channels and tool box floor are pretty gone.
“This 1948 CJ2A Willys is all original except for seats and wheels. We have the original seats, but need to be upholstered. New battery. Starts and runs good, does not use oil. Original identification plate and transmission/transfer case diagram.
Clear Idaho title.”
Here a solid looking Lefty.

(11/24/2012) Glenn has his Lefty CJ-2A for sale.
“This is Willys CJ2A S/N 185318, a documented Lefty, as discussed in “Calling All Leftys” on The CJ2A Forum. This is a PROJECT!! It needs EVERYTHING restored. Mostly complete vehicle, rusty body and frame. Frame has been repaired, repaired again, needs more repair now. Body has been off frame, repaired, welded in floors, panels and needs more repair now. Engine, drive train are stock, non running, looks complete, I haven’t tried. Has a rear PTO unit, but needs repair also. As per PO, this Jeep was running when put into storage about 5 years ago. I added stock KH 16″ rims with oversized 7;50X16 tires, took out bucket seats, added stock left seat frame. RH seat is not stock, maybe Crosley. The dash tag is very readable with CJ2A-185318. The frame tag is missing. The ACM Number looks like 17?579 and others in that neighborhood show the third digit might be a 5 or 6. Buyer will research further. This is very near the end of Lefty production as per Willys Service Bulletin 48-27 and less than 20 have been accounted for making this a very worthwhile project. Sold with a Bill of Sale only as Maine is a non title state. I can license and insure legally in Maine as it is. What you need in your state is up to your DMV at your expense. Email me at glenns@tdstelme.net and I’ll send pix and complete details. Don’t bother me with silly questions like, “How are the hat channels?”. Like I said, EVERYTHING needs repair. Understand this, EVERY bolt will be turned. What level you take this restoration to is up to you. If a real Lefty in your garage is on your bucket list, here it is for $2000. Might partial Willys trade. Call 207-491-one,two,three,Four. Glenn”

UPDATE: Dennis reports this has sold. It was listed at $1500.
This hasn’t b een run in a while and has rot on the driver’s side at the very least. The half cab looks good.
“MOTOR REBUILT IN EARLY 1990’S, BEEN IN STORAGE FOR LAST 15 YEARS, LAST STARTED IN 2001. 6′ BLADE INCLUDED.”
This looks pretty stock, but has plenty of rust, too. Mostly surface rust?

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000
This may be a solid runner, but it looks patched in a few places.
“1948 Jeep, engine has been gone through and runs great vehicle has been taken down to bare metal and re-sprayed. It is a good solid vehicle that I think most Jeep owners would appreciate.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500
There’s value here. No motor.
“1949 Jeep CJ2A minus motor, interior and wiring harness. Great project for the right person! $500 obo with title. ”
This looks like a good price.
“1948 Willys Jeep. Flat Fender Style. New Vinyl Top. Very Original condition. Drive train is good and runs without any smoke or engine noise. Frame is good but the body has been patched. Very useable the way it is. Includes Owners manuel. 715-569-4171”
UPDATE: Back on eBay
(11/26/2011) This look solid.
” I am selling my 1948 CJ2A Jeep. It has a NEW 4cyc Old Stock engine! This particular engine is still braking in and has under 100 miles on it… I also said that it has approximately 55,000 miles, I am estimating this as I am not sure if the odomitor is correct… this is truly non-significant, but I did want to bring this too your attention… This engine is in PERFECT shape…Body is in great shape and does (as far as I and my mechanic can see) NOT have any major rust issues…I have put a new Electric Fuel Pump, New Battery, New Tires, New Brakes… it has been converted to12 volts with alternator.
Original CJ2A Split Windshield too, nothing seen as reproduction concerning body, windshield, etc… Please see pictures, this one is a super deal, because of it’s shape, and condition…Plus Warn overdrive, Selectro Mechanical Hubs. It drives very well, the transmission does NOT pop out of gear and it does not smoke…
I have added detailed pictures, and if you have any questions please let me know… I looked for a long time to find a NICE CJ2A jeep that could be fixed up and made nice without a lot of trouble or expense, etc. This is one of the nicest ones around and it took me a long time (over 3-4 years to find)… The biggest need is for the seat to be re-upholstered as the cushion and leather is bad… The seat frames are great… If one wants, it could be painted.
Why am I selling? I am starting a “special” medical clinic to help people and our soldiers who have Post Traumatic Stress Disease. I need to purchase more equipment for the clinic. Please know that my work is still based on donation and all my patients who want help, will get help.
Thanks for bidding, and thank you in advance for who ever purchases this jeep…YOU are doing a great cause to help those who suffer from PTSS, PTSD, Depression, etc.
Sincerely,
Dr. Victor J Wedel”

UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $500.
“1946-1947 willys jeep body and frame. Have hard short top and hard doors. what you see in the pictures is what you get. No title. I will be glad to write you a bill of sale. Come save it before I take it to the shredder. Bring a trailer and I can assist with loading. I am interested in Trades for motorcycles in any condition. I would prefer anything shaft drive, preferably gold wings. I am also in need of a small rearend from something like an old Datsun, Toyota, Nissan, etc. I am wanting to build another trike and need a small rearend. Let me know what ya got! (620) Two-Five-Nine (dash) 0185 tag words: subaru, tryke, gold wing, touring, samuri, suzuki, yamaha, harley, davidson, hot rod, chevelle, camaro, rat rod, fast, chopper,”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500. Lefty?
There might be some value here.
“This is a 40’s vintage CJ2A Jeep. It has no motor but has complete rolling chassis with tranny and transfer. Has both front seats and fuel tank. Would make a great winter time project. Asking $500 or best realistic Offer It comes with it’s own tow bar with a 2″ ball hitch.”
This runs, but does need some work.
“I am selling a 1948 willys cj2a “lefty” Jeep!! There were less the 10,000 of these jeeps built one year. Willys put the spare tire on the drivers side instead of the passenger for a few months of production. The jeep does have some rust and body damage but can be fixed pretty easy.. the motor starts right up and seems to run good but the carburetor could use a rebuild. I put a new gas tank with sending unit in the jeep and also I have new canvas seats coming for the jeep… Jeep does need some TLC but would be a nice project to fix up for hunting or to do a full restoration… Please fell free to call me at (970-210-0680) for any question… Jeep is located in Crawford CO but I can deliver the jeep..”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $600.
This looked like an average parts jeep until I saw the bow holders on the passenger side.
“Doesn’t run. Titled in Colorado. Has most of original parts. Was going to build a rock crawler but kids came. I have no time to fix need to sell.”
UPDATE: Was $4000. **SOLD**
It needs some body work. This is a lefty (spare tire mounted on the left).
“1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A. Runs great original engine. Will need some under body work. Great project for someone who has the time.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $850. I assume the unusual windshield is due to the hard top.
Here’s a jeep with an unusual top. and it appears to be a lefty, though the tire is mounted pretty high.
“Project i never had time for, nearly complete except for a few parts that were taken by midnight shoppers. starter air cleaner, carb missing.”
“I bought this about 15 years ago and it has been a blast. I have a large farm and we used it to cruise around here and taught my kids how to drive on it. It runs excellant and has the original Hurricane 4 cyl. Red Devil engine with a 3 spd. Trans. The tires are great, but as you can see they are not original equip. Recently installed entire brake system. We would use this to ride around at hunting season and the occassional trip down to the local watering hole. It has been great to us and has always started and never left us stranded. It truly is a great piece of history that would make an excellant canidate for restoration or use as is. We have had our fun with it but just don’t use it much anymore so it is time for it to go to a new owner.”
“We have a 1947 Willy’s Jeep, white with Blue seats and top. It was pieced together with 1942, 46 and 47 parts in the late 1980’s, trailered from Arkansas to Michigan in the early 1990’s and has been stored in a pole barn since then. The body is in good condition, the engine runs, it does drive but it does seem to ‘eat’ batteries. My husband and I don’t have the time or resources to work on the jeep and hate to see it set. It comes with the spare tire and the gas can that hooks to the side. There is a title to this jeep, and it was licensed back in 1994.”
“1948 willys jeep like new rubber runs and drivers good. Jeep has P.T.O. and soft top plow not included but could be if you want it. I have another set of rubber I could put on the jeep for 400.00 less”

“my step dad passed away and now im helping my mother sell his jeep willys. not sure how long he has owned it but can tell you it was longer than 12 years. it has always been stored inside while he owned it. since him and my mother have been together in 96 it has been driven only bout a dozen times. maybe once a year. was always taken good care of. i do not know the extent of what kind of resto was done. the frame appears to have been painted at one time…..”
