“My father purchased this 1946 jeep in 2019 from the original owner here in Dallas. The Willys jeep is a 1946 CJ-2A. It had been in their family since that time. The vehicle was painted white some years ago and was converted to a 12-volt system. The jeep is mostly original with many additional options. A heater, Koenig winch, wipers, blinkers were added to name a few. The original owners manual and framing for the top are also included with a few other random parts. While the jeep would benefit carburetor cleaning the Jeep runs and drives well now. $10,000 obo. Willing to trade. No scams”

This was for sale back in 2018, but, based on the rear license plate, appears to have sold. Curiously, these new pics show a Florida plate on the back and a Vermont plate on the front.

(04/10/2020) The seller suggests that this is a 1945, but the dash plate looks more like a post column shift (33xxx-45xxx) plate … (has the script “JEEP” and does has the “ONE QUARTER TON FOUR WHEEL DRIVE” slogan rather than the preceding “ONE QUARTER TON FOUR WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK”). “1951 Willys M38 Jeep. Off frame restoration. Frame media cleaned, primed and painted. Front and rear differentials rebuilt using new bearings and seals. Transmission and transfer case rebuilt also. Work performed by Sumpter County transmission in Leesburg. Engine dismantled, block boiled out and cylinders re sleeved. Engine reassembled using all new parts. Work performed by Dave Latarte Machine Shop, Fruitland Park. Painting done by Johnny’s Hot Rod Leesburg. New wiring harness, brake lines, wheel cylinders and brake shoes. New fuel lines.
Asking $20,000 or will consider trade for a late model Trike or Pularis UTV.”

“1949 Willys Jeepster and good drivable condition. Three (3) speed on the column with electric overdrive. Fun weekend vehicle for the whole family, including the dog. The Jeepster is an automobile originally produced by Willys-Overland Motors from 1948 to 1950.[3] It was developed in hopes of filling a gap in the company’s product line, crossing over from their “utilitarian” proto SUVs and trucks to the passenger automobile market. The basic model included numerous deluxe features and interior fittings in addition to a high level of standard equipment that cost extra on other automobiles. The seller notes that 1955 was the first year Warn offered the five-ring warn hubs. Actually, they (both the locking and the automatic hubs) were offered as early as 1953, according to at least two different ads. One 1953 ad (note the Feb 1953 Motor Trend Magazine for example was a full blown brochure, while this 1953 ad below was included in the September 1953 Popular Science magazine:

“For sale or trade. I am gunsmith so primary interest is firearms but no harm in asking. This is a great Willys that can be driven just the way it is or you can pursue additional restoration. Everything works, 4×4, factory Warn hub locks (first year those were offered), overdrive, front and rear PTO with a winch on the front bumper. Dual fuels tanks. Older paint still looks good, just not shiny. Seats were all just rebuilt (foam and covering) in a canvas looking modern material. Less than 200 miles on a completely rebuilt and balanced Chevy L6 250 with MSD Distributor and Electronic Ignition. Starts and hums along very smoothly. Steering is vintage and next on my restore list if I keep it. Need $12500 in cash or trade value to consider parting with this fun rig.”
