Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This 1947 Willys-Overland pickup painted in Arctic Grey is one of approximately 2,500 manufactured in 1947. The truck is powered by a L6-226 Super Hurricane engine that runs beautifully. The electrical system has been upgraded to 12V by a previous owner. A refurbishment by the current owner started in January 2021 after being purchased in Arizona and was completed in November 2022. The work included rust proofing underbody and frame, applying bedliner finish, new fuel tank, sending unit and line, fuel pump, aluminum radiator, thermostat, engine and heater hoses, water pump, belt, points, plugs, wires, carburetor rebuild, paint, professional tune-up and oil/filter change. Equipment includes a custom rear bumper/hitch, a heater/defroster, 5-gallon side-mounted gas can and a side-mounted spare. This pickup is offered with a service manual, receipts for work performed and parts, vintage AZ license plate, car cover and a clean Washington title.”

Gary Williams 1150 Dominator, Reher Morrison intake, heavily worked Dart Pro 1 heads, Ron Davis radiator, Eagle rotating assembly, Jessel rockers, oversized .904 Howard’s solid lifters, custom cam from Forsyth speed, Ross custom pistons, Custom Hooker headers, pro star 500 pump, Best of the Best from front to back. in this configuration it made 989 hp on an engine Dyno, but can easily be de-tuned to 800hp. I have complete professional build sheets. PowerGlide w/4500 stall (2k HP build), scatter shield and drive line loop. Modified Dana 60 (4 link) w/removable wheelie bar, spool w/6.17 gears, 35 spline Mosers. Areospace brakes, QA1 shocks w/adjustable height linkage. Looks in great shape, but there are some detail issues. Just a few here: I can’t spot any evidence of frame gussets at the front; the driver’s indents are missing. and it is floor shift.

“The brief rundown is, it is a 1958 FC-170. It has a mid-engine Ford 351 with a C6 automatic. The truck has a ton of really cool features, such as a hydraulic bed and deck cover. Suicide doors, custom fiberglass bed. Jaguar rear end with coilover shocks, independent Mustang 2 front end on airbags. Complete custom interior. It really is a lot of fun, and gets attention everywhere it goes. Needs a little bit of electrical help, and could use a good paint job. It runs and drives. No rust. Located in southern Utah.
