Along with some rust, this CJ-2A has all kinds of mods. I’ve unaware of any factor “cowl cover”; that said, the place I’ve seen these cowl extensions most often is in the northern Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana areas, so maybe there was a dealer(s) in those areas offering custom cowl creations? The hardtop looks to be an aftermarket Koenig half cab.

1964 Wagon Traveller Katy, TX eBay

Mike spotted this modified Traveller for sale out of Texas. The serial number put this at only 7 units later than Scrambleer’s (Dan) Orange Traveller (see his wagon at the lower part of this 2014 post). Given it is so heavily modified, it would make a good platform for doing something creative. It would surprise me if this was a former Border Patrol vehicle (but I see no gov plate).

Ivan shared this rare jeep. It is a former fire jeep-wagon. It was likely part of a limited production model either from some Willys-licensee in Europe or a third party. It’s priced at 45,000 Plish Zlotych which equates to about $19,500 USD.

This modified CJ-5 has an extended rear. The seller is unsure of the year, but it seems most likely a mid 1960s CJ-5 given the lack of a tailgate stamp and no faux battery box lid.

Marty shared this customized CJ-6. He confirmed this was built in Pennsylvania. Both rear axles are drive axles, though one new carrier bearing is needed. The large side windows suggest the Meyer hardtop was modified, too.

“his is a 74 CJ5 extended to include a third axle. Runs rough at the moment but drives amazingly well. It is powered by a 79 small block 350 which makes this Jeep scream down the road. Very well built all original look steel interior and exterior no fiberglass. Has a stretched and modified steel hard top wrapped in vinyl and a steel half cap included but not in great shape. Also includes the tan bikini top for warmer driving. In the opinion of mine and others (mechanics) this is a very well built rig and can be left as is with minor work and still a one of one head turner in the world!! Needs a carrier bearing on the mid axle rebuilt to drive the rear axle and with that is a live three axle Jeep. Will consider trading for; Scouts, Range Rover, Land Rover, Land cruisers 43,45,or 47 Ford Bronco, Jeep CJ6, CJ8-Scrambler, pretty much anything old cool and definitely 4×4!”

YJ springs, fresh built 258 (built by Steve Damon) oil catch can, crane cam/lifters, heavy crankshaft (early model with 7 counterweights great for low rpm no-stall) Keith black pistons, head and block surfaced, T18 4 speed with 6.32:1 low gear, D20 transfer case, Ford 9″ rear end & D30 front (with lockers) 3:54 gears, 35×15 tires, custom oak dash/center console with all SpeedHut gauges (GPS speedo), hi-output single wire charging system, Kicker speaker pods, kicker amp/10” sub, integrated roll bar, Griffin radiator, MSD ign, “monstaliner” coating on body, no rust many more pics and parts but this is getting long.
