Now I know what you are thinking; Why install a non-military fording kit? That’s what you were focused on, right?
“1952 Willys M38A1 90% restored to as delivered to the Marine Corps in 1952. This vehicle was converted to 12 volts with new non military wiring. It runs well and transmission as well as transfer case work well. There are some minor leaks in the seals of the rear diff and transfer case. The battery box was removed by previous owner to install heater. heater has been removed. Many new parts including lights, horn switch, dash, glove box cover, gauges, steering wheel and more. This M38A1 runs very well and has made the parade / car show circuit in upstate New york this summer with no problems. The fording kit is not military, but looks real cool. The starter and generator are not waterproof so don’t expect to ford any streams. Markings are correct for the 1950s era. There are minor blemishes on the tub, but no rust holes. The frame is solid and in excellent shape. It runs and stops. The motor is clean and runs well. Sorry guys, Danielle does not come with the Jeep.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
The price looks reasonable for a drivable flattie. The body looks a little beat up and it appears there is a patch on the passenger side of the body.
“Runs great!!”
Under 10,000 miles? better check that out closely. It appears in good shape based on the two pics.

“This kills me to do, but i need to knock down some debt. i have a restored 46 cj2a that i would like to sell. it has not been restored to original, but is exceptional none the less. everything was done 2 years ago. the windshield frame, fenders, and grill are all original. the tub was replaced, the engine rebuilt, wheels and tires replaced, new spare tire mount, new gas tank, all new seats, new glass, new top and doors, remote oilfilter kit, new battery, new brakes, basically the whole willys was rebuilt, except the transmission and transfer case. it runs the original flat head (rebuilt about 4-5k miles ago), tranny and transfercase, and axles. i have daily driven this for teh last 2 years during late spring, summer and early fall. it fires right up, runs smooth, sounds good, and has been perfectly reliable. the tires are 1.5 years old 30×9.50 bfg mudterrains mounted on 15” ford steel wheels. the whole jeep was repainted when the tub was replaced, and teh interior and fenderwells have all be sprayed with tinted spray in bedline to match the paint exactly.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3450.

“1946 Willys CJ-2A Millitary jeep carry over, This is a partially restored Willys that was never completed. Traded to us on a new Ford F150. Here is a partial list of what I know has been done. The rusty panels have been replaced (1) tub floor, (2)Forward floors. Driver and passenger seat recovered, new fuel tank, converted to 12volt, rebuilt short block, runs and drives. The entire Willys has been primed with heavy duty powder coat (could be painted)including frame. No rust in frame. (see photos). This Willys Runs and drives but the carb needs rebuilt. It also has new front turn signal lenses and chrome headlamp bezels, new steering wheel. Odometer shows 41,017 but I have no way of knowing if it is accurate.”
Here’s an unusual arrangement of rear sitting.
“All bearings, brake parts and lines, steering linkage, wiring harness, gas tank and gas line, windshield and gasket, radiator, fuel pump, carbuator, water pump, alternator, hoses, all replaced with new parts. Electrical converted to 12 volt. Engine has oil filter cartridge system. All clutch parts new. This vehicle is a solid runner. It has 16 inch rims, which are not the original 15 inch rims. Tires are 7.50X16 and are probably 25 years old with tubes and have always held air. I have owned this jeep since 1987 and have done all of the work except rebuilding the engine, which was done professionally. Drives good, no shimmy. Floor starter. All guages replaced with new, however the gas guage needs to be replaced as it was burned out when the conversion to 12 volt was done. This jeep is ready to use.”
