1948 CJ-2A Parker, CO $11,500

Looks nice.

“The CJ2A was the very first civilian Jeep sold after World War II. This Jeep went through a three-year frame-off total restoration. Anything that wasn’t original was removed. My goal was to return it to what it looked like when it rolled off the showroom floor. I have owned it for 19 years.

The vehicle was completely dismantled. Original frame was sandblasted, primed and painted. Much of the original body was beyond repair, so those portions were replaced with correct reproductions purchased from a Jeep specialist in California. Original grill, headlights, turn signals, chrome headlight trim, bumper & tailgate were retained. The transmission and transfer case are original. The body was completely sanded, primed, and painted. It has NO bondo / body filler. The original paint color (Luzon Red) was found under the dashboard, and the Jeep was returned to that color with original color wheels.  Continue reading

1964 CJ-5 Buena Vista, CO **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. According to Bill this has the Mark III Tuxedo Park package.

Jim spotted this nice looking CJ-5. It looks like it has a Tuxedo Park Package and appears to have the Indian Ceramic steering wheel.

“From high up in the mountains of central Colorado comes a very well preserved, 1964 CJ5 that is largely unmolested. The reason I say largely unmolested is that other than a carburetor change to aid the drivability at altitude, this jeep is all original from factory paint to the factory upholstery. The original Carter Carburetor is included, along with the air cleaner ducting should the buyer wish to return it to its stock configuration. Carter did offer a “High Altitude” kit for the “Hurricane 4″but it was rated rated at 4000 ft above sea level, but when you consider that this jeep lives at 8000 ft, and a ride into the high country may find it 13,000’+, you see the Carter solution is not viable. Re-jet you say? Carter used metering rods instead of jets, so that’s why it has the very popular Weber Progressive 2 bbl. conversion which allows re-jetting to accommodate the thin air.

1960 FC-170 Helena, MT **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: FC150-FC170-M677 • TAGS: .

UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD**

Needs work.

“I bought this last spring from the estate of a guy that owned a trucking company here. He had this at his ranch for years and just used it for fencing in the rough country and in the summer had a fire fighting outfit that he slid in the box. I doubt that it was off his place more than a dozen times in all the years he owned it. He died and I bought this and a Willys pickup, a 58, that I also have for sale.

The son told me they hadn’t started this since Don died and maybe a couple years before that as he was sick for quite awhile. But the tires were up, it had a 5 year old battery in it and cranked right over once we replaced the battery and got some gas to the carb. The engine runs great, smooth and quiet, oil pressure is good. Radiator had antifreeze, etc. The only real problems were that the carb leaked gas pretty bad and the choke cable was sticky. I got a kit to rebuild the carb and will do that before this leaves or include the kit, what ever you want. It has NO brakes. Haven’t fooled with them. I’ve just been driving it around the ranch, don’t need brakes.

The is probably as close to an original, rust free 1960 FC as you are ever going to find. The cab corners are good, the floors are good — some surface rust but not much else – the box is solid, the rear bumper is solid and protected the fenders, etc. Tires are pretty nasty, you’ll need new ones. It has a couple extra wheels with it.

Its going to need some work, it has a couple dents here and there including the driver’s door one they all have and fair smack on the side of the cab roof. Not hard to fix but it is there.

AS near as I can tell it is almost totally original, they added an alternator and cut the engine hump a little to make clearance, the floor mats are worn out and there is a rip in one seat. The windshield is good, which doesn’t mean it’s perfect. Drivers side window is plexiglas or something. Not glass.

Take a look at the photos and see what you think. Jump in and bid or hit the buy it now. Shipping out of Montana is not all that expensive to most places, you can probably ship this anywhere in the US for under $1000. Or hook up your trailer and come get it. I will never have time to do anything with it, I have half a dozen Willys pickups and Jeeps and need to thin the herd. Doing up a CJ2A with my 15 year old in her school colors, that’s taking about all the time I have for old Jeeps.

I have a clear current Montana title in my name along with a set of Montana personalized plates that say 60FC170. I got those when I thought I was going to get it running and driving this summer.

Some of these photos were taken the day I got it, I’ve cleaned it up some since then. If you want more photos you can email me and I’ll try to get them to you.”

1965 Tuxedo Park IV CJ-5 Dolores, CO eBay

UPDATE: See the comments below. This was listed in early June on eBay. Seller refused to sign a contract or bill of sale that also protected the seller. Seller listed it on eBay, but wouldn’t sell it through eBay (clear violation of eBay rules).

Jim spotted this nice looking Tuxedo Park.

“Here is one you don’t see everyday a 1965 cj5-a tuxedo park edition in unrestored stock unmolested condition. This jeep has been stored inside from new with no sun fading or rust. It was in Arizona and then Colorado all its life. The speedo shows 2015 miles and it works. There is not enough wear on anything to be 10215 just a few scratches and seat wear. not sure of the milage as the speedo has been replaced. This is the nicest original jeep I’ve ever seen. Everything works except the parking brake I think it just needs some penetrating oil. This is a model all its own it has many options that other CJs don’t  it has a factory overdrive, 10″ brakes, two stage springs, revalved shocks for softer ride, many chrome items including bumpers, hood hinges, tail lights and rear view mirror, fully adjustable padded seats that are 60-40 with padded rear fender wells and a column shift manual transmission. This jeep also has a 6000 lb. winch that’s looks like a factory install with the button mounted in the grill.”

Runs and drives, but could use some work.

“56 Willys 4×4 Station Wagon, collector’s plates no yearly tabs to buy. New fuel pump, rebuilt carb, new rear brakes including wheel brake cylinders, grease seals and guard. Last owner told me motor was rebuilt and it appears to be rebuilt as compression checks out and is uniform between all 6 cylinders. Has Willys Super Hurrican straight 6. Motor runs quite. Bought for fun and bug out, while working on it to get it on the road I realized my disability makes it to difficult and is to hard on me, so hopefully you will benefit from my misfortune. You can drive it on property to see it does drive, but this old girl does need restoration.”
