1948 CJ-2A Boerne, TX **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3200.

You don’t see too many jeeps with Suicide doors.

“After about 12 years, way too much money and 1,000s of hours of sweat, I have completed a rebuild of this CJ2A.

Engine Components: new plugs, points & condenser, adjust timing, re-core radiator, rebuild starter, new flywheel, new coil, rebuild generator, new relay, completely rebuild the transmission (all new gears, synchronizers and bearings), all new wiring (front to back), new Solex replacement carburetor for the original Carter, new voltage regulator, plug wires, front lights, ignition switch, battery, horn.

Suspension: new springs and shocks. A steel plate for bed ( I put it under suspension because without the extra weight (250#), it beats you up), new A/T tires, new brakes and lines, Pitman arm, Tie rods.

Body (here is where it gets interesting): sanded and repainted original tub (there were 5 layers of paint to get off which included the original red that CJ2A’s came with).

I picked up a 1974 mailman’s carrier off of a ranch and fitted the top and windshield onto the CJ2A. This gave me an enclosed cab with a rear door and electric windshield wipers. Since the original doors slid on rails, I decided to hinge them and make them suicide doors. I had to custom build some latches. In response to some questions…YES, the top can be removed!

I added spot lights in the back so that I can have some light while closing gates. Put new padding and covers over seats. Painted the inside of the jeep. Remounted the spare tire carrier. I am sure I did some other things to it but I believe you get the gist of this project!”

Unusual Hardtop Oak Harbor, WA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Parts • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Was $600. **SOLD**

“Not too long ago I purchased a 1943 Ford GPW Jeep and it came with this hardtop already on it. I got it from a farm in eastern Washington near Yakima and was used as a cold weather top. Since I am in the process in restoring the Jeep, I’m not going to put the hardtop back on my Jeep, so it has to go! The top is from a late 1920’s to early 1930’s Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Buick. It has suicide doors, original rear view mirror and a windshield wiper motor (see photos). The body is sliver in color with red primer in places. It has a hole in the roof which is covered by a plywood board, which that whole area would have been cloth at one time. The windows on the doors are plexiglass and the rest of the glass windows are cracked bedsides the one on the driver’s side. Very restorable with minimal rust and no bad cancer areas.”

1948 Truck Burlington, WI **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Jeep Rods, Willys Trucks • TAGS: , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay

Here’s a cool, custom 4 door truck.

“What you see here is a 1948 willys crewcab custom conversion, the back doors are suicide mounted. The conversion was done about 10 years ago and has held up very well. The interior has a stock bench rear seat, with a storage well beneath it. The front seats are cavalier buckets(grey) that do not match the buckskin on the rest of the interior. The truck has been on the road for the better part of decade and needs some freshening (to your tastes). The drivetrain is a Fresh rebuilt 454, .030 over with .500 lift cam and big oval heads, has performer intake with new performer carb, headers and a light porting on the heads. This thing is a tourque monster! will burn the tires at will.Tranny is a turbo 350 rebuilt approx. 2000 miles ago with a shift kit and billet internals, transfer case is np205 gear drive with 1350 rear joints, 1310 front joints. Front axle is scout 2 with disk brakes, rear axle is ford 9” 31 spline with spool, both are geared 3.73.Body exterior is painted flat black with a ton of custom pinstriping and paint work, looks like it has been tattooed!Paint is about 5 years old and has some issues (passenger rear door opened up at 60 mph, cracked a little but held up well!) but is still real good looking , especially if you like the rat rod look.Only reason its for sale is to fund a new project.Happy bidding!
