Problems: Body has a few character dents (was fun, kinda regretting it now), Jeep could use paint, E-brake not holding.
Receipts are available….So why put money into an antique fixer-upper when it’s mostly done? A fixer-upper eventually cost way, way more than this Jeep.

UPDATE: This is back on eBay
(08/15/2012) Here’s an unusual CJ-5. It appears to have been modified by the same people/person who created these other modified jeeps, an observation I’m basing on the top. Given the jeep is from Hesperia, there’s a very good change it is the same group. Note that the jeep was stored for more than three decades.
“Here’s my 1957 jeep, it was stored from around the late 70’s till 2010, still has the original california black plate, runs and drives great!!
paint, interior, and engine change where done around 1960, was owned and customized by a california car customizer in the fresno area
engine is a all stock 1960 283, has the original 4bbl carb, power pack heads, generator with power steering drive, runs perfect, very nicely installed, looks factory
UPDATE: Was priced at $7500.**SOLD**
This looks nice. Shouldn’t this also have a Tuxedo Park plates on the hood?
“1963 Jeep CJ-5 Tuxedo Park Trim Package in rare Indian Ceramic Paint. This jeep is in very good shape for its age. Spent most of its life in California where is was in storage for 30+ years. Original engine was rebuilt in 2007 and original body was painted in 2008. Very low mileage(45k) vehicle with its rare Ramsey Winch & original Indian Ceramic Steering wheel, shifter and seats. Recently put in a new fuel tank, fuel pump and filter from Kaiser Willys. Please email with any questions. Price is $7500 obo. Thank you for looking.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
(05/08/2012) This nicely stock jeep includes a rear PTO with a winch. It has an older top that looks in good shape. I’m pretty sure that isn’t factory shag carpet though ….
“1957 JEEP CJ-5 Willys….. 4×4 … lock out hubs…. 4 cylinder….3 speed … freshly rebuilt engine…. new master cylinder, new rear wheel cylinders, new brake lines…
factory PTO and rear winch…
Full black soft top …. rear seat….. $5,500..”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Here’s a nicely stock CJ-5. I haven’t seen a chrome rim around the spare tire like this one has. Was that an option?
“971 Jeep CJ-5, 37,726 original miles
(not a rebuild, this is ORIGINAL)
Original Buick V6 engine
Two tops (full soft top & bikini top)
Locking Axles (2 wheel to 4 wheel)
Great solid vehicle. Runs extremely well. This is not a show vehicle but not far off. Color is forest green. Interior is forest green and black. They don’t make em like this anymore and this one is as un-touched as they get. Once its gone there may never be another. Any reasonable offer will be considered. If you have questions, or wish to make an offer, please call (828) 712-6681. Ask for details.”
Buz spotted this one. It is a no-reserve auction on a beautiful, stock CJ-5. You’ll want to look at the pics of this one. Compare the picture of it to the brochure below in the next post, too.
“Selling for my computer inept friend. This 1960 Willys Jeep CJ5 is in Beautiful Original Condition, probably the nicest original CJ5 in existence. Totally Original Paint, Upholstery, Engine, Miles, Everything is ORIGINAL. 21055 miles. Clear Title. Original Spare Tire is not shown in the pictures but is included in the sale. The tires are believed to be the originals and are in good shape with normal wear and no weather checking. The Jeep has been stored in a carefully climate controlled building and has seen just enough use in the last many years to keep everything functional and working well. The Jeep starts easily, runs perfectly, goes down the road as it should, and it needs nothing. The Hardtop appears to have never been removed since new. All fluids are fresh and the battery is new. Look closely at the pictures, they tell the story about this vehicle better than words, more detailed pictures are available if you request them via email. The Jeep shows very minimal use and wear with no damage or repairs. All sheet metal is in oustanding condition and the only corrosion is very minimal, located near the tailights on both sides, the pictures show this clearly. Floor pans, fenders, quarter panels hood, undercarriage, were undercoated early in this CJ’s life and have been remarkably preserved. There are no hidden problems, repairs, or any funny business … This jeep is the real thing, a near museum quality original, unmolested survivor.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000
Mark just listed this over at sellajeep.com.
“1959 CJ-5 with a 327 Corvette engine from 1962. It has new tie rods, all new electrical, new front and rear seals on the engine, 3″ lift and newer tires. The body is in excellent condition and has no rust. The transmission does need some work.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800
“Kaiser Willys 1955 CJ5. First year of the civilian CJ5’s, 215 V8 Buick motor with 2bbl carb, new battery this spring, 3 Spd tranny, Overdrive, front tow hitch, 60’s era bucket seats. Except for the motor and overdrive I believe this jeep to be fairly stock. I have some 31-10.50-15 tires on it with fair tread. Standard 9 in brakes so expect what you get for brakes with the 9″ drums and 1955 brakes designs. Runs and drives. Some rust peeking through paint with a split on top just behind hood. Bimini top and full soft top with two sets of doors. Soft top is fair. Keeps the weather out but rear window could be replaced as it is cracked. Asking $1800 cash and will only sell local. Can be used as is or would be a base for a builder if desired. My original desire was to build it up but just ended up using it stock for the past 8 or 9 years. Please respond to ad and I will get back with you. Thanks for looking.”
UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $2000.
I thought this looked pretty good for only $2000.
“1959 Jeep Willy, army green, 69,658 original miles. New gas lines, new tank….Many extra parts — engine, doors, tires, gas tank, extra set of tires Must see to appreciate.”
