Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. There’s a small chance this is a CJ-3B rather than a CJ-5. No pics shown.

I’m not sure what all is combined to make this flattie. The good news is that the body appears to be in excellent condition. Lots of large pics on the Ad allow for close inspection. The seller notes that this a currently a 2wd vehicle, though in one image it looks like there is a front pumpking visible.

Brian sent in this find. He notes that CJ-5s like this in the midwest are hard to find without being plagued with rust. As Brian note, it’s also likely to have the offset 30 spline axles.

That’s a good looking CJ-5 for only $1500.

I don’t see any obvious issues with this CJ-5. This appears to be a great price. Minor note: the year in the title of the Ad differs from the year in the description.

Yeah, it appears there’s some rust. But, if it runs well, this may be a good find for someone.

This CJ-5 has got some great extras for jeeping, including posi front and rear, full cage, dual tanks and more.

This early CJ-5, first year of production, appears very stock and in good shape.
“Rare 1955 Willy’s jeep with a flat head 4 cylinder engine. Manual hubs, high low transfer case, & 3 speed transmission. Was grandpas old jeep but after he suffered a stroke the jeep just sat in the garage for years.
