UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3600.
Lots of pics of this wagon.
“This is the Willys Jeep that we have for sale. It is a 1951 2WD wagon & it still has it’s original L-Head (Flat head) engine. It has a new hwad gasket & ARP head studs. It also has a slightly more modern carburator. The transmission is the original 3-speed & it is equipped with the optional factory overdrive. The tires are new. The paint looks nice from a reasonable distance (I painted it & I am not a professional by any means) The seats have been redone & so has the headliner. If you are looking for a runnig classic to really turn some heads (& tinker with a bit) – this is it! now keep in mind it’s 57 years old & requires a bit of attention. :)”
UPDATE 3: The eWillys Israel bureau is hot on the trail of the ‘Tender’. Another set of pics was accompanied by the following update.
Here’s what he Googled in Hebrew: “A man named Efraim Eilin had a vision of an Israeli car industry. In 1950 he made partnership with Kaizer Enterprises and in 1951 he opened the Kaizer-Eilin assembly plant. The plant[S] made more then 100,000 cars [Kaiser Frazer, Dofin Renolt, kontesa , Lark Studibaker…] and at some point the plant export was 28% of all the Israeli exports! I couldn’t find info on the Willys except that they made the panel, the wagon and the pick-up [we say: ‘Tender’]. All the body parts were made in Israel in another plant in Israel; so, I guess that the trucks used the low part of the panel/wagon + special design for the back as an original Kaiser-Eilin. The Willys had 2 engines: 2199 cc 4 cylinder and 3770 cc 6 c‘”
And here’s a special Willys Police Wagon (here’s the page for our Hebrew readers):
As I note in the comments to this post, a couple days ago I did a number of searches (and found some interesting truck sites that I will include in upcoming posts), but I found no references to the ‘Tender’ or ‘high back’ trucks. If anyone knows anything about them, please let me know.
I’m attempting to find a website that discusses this Willys/Jeep Truck/Van thingy. My guess, based on our reader from Israel, is that this is an international vehicle.
So far, I have had no luck finding information about it. However, in the process of my search, I did stumble upon a great website about Trucks: JeepTruck.com. There are features, trucks and parts for sale, a comprehensive links page, and more.
This looks excellent and looks very stock. I guess it’s a Wagon night?
“1951 willys wagon 2 wd all original. 98% rust free, rebuilt 4 cyl engine, 3 spd with overdrive, runs great, paint ok. $7,000 or possible trade.”
UPDATE: Sold
This comes with a Warn Overdrive. This might be a good deal if the body rust I see isn’t too bad. It looks stock, except for the 350.
“

“This is the station wagon model. Odometer is a 6 digit meter and shows 03,992.8 miles but I’m sure it is 103,992. Engine runs and drives. Has the original 4 cylinder engine and a 3 speed column shift transmission with over drive. This is the 2 wheel drive model. Vehicle is in very restorable condition. Body in fair to good condition, solid frame. Comes with some extra parts, trans, steering wheel and misc. parts. Also comes with a repair manual and a restoration manual. If you are interested I can e-mail additional pictures. If you have a question just ask. I am selling because I have too many to work on and not enough time.
Thanks for looking. More pictures. Click on links below.”
There’s got to be at least some value here. That rear almost looks like it has a full floating set up.
This was my 4×4 project until I got sick. It has a REAL strong 4 speed, chev 6 that runs, Dana front end and rear end. It just has no wiring right now, but it is a great project or parts vehicle. Priced to sell FAST. (425) 971-1769 cell, Please no text message Todd needs a good home with someone willing to finish my dream project”
UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $550.
(08/26/09) “Up for sale is a 1950 Willy’s Jeep Station Wagon Trailer. I have used it for a vendor trailer selling auto parts at swap meets in the past and for storage to keep items out of the weather. The interior is open with one large shelf and several drawers underneath for extra storage. The glass has been replaced with plywood which I just applied a fresh coat of paint to. The rear window is the only one remaining on the trailer. The tires are in good shape and it has a spare tire.”
