1970 Jeep Jeepster Convertible 8702 $7500 Allenhurst, NJ
***SOLD***
So have to get in the weeds to see the details, it sounds like the Jeep is $7500 complete but if the thing does not sell sounds like will be parted out a bit the top alone could be listed for $3750.
Learned a little bit about Jeepster Convertibles today thanks to the Jeepsterman’s video explaining the difference between the 8701 and 8702
The 8702 should be a true convertible, the tailgate should be functional, there is no trim down the side, they are a little more of a basic model vs the fancier 8701. This does look the part of a 8702 as per the video.
I saw an 8701, maybe last year in NJ, pop up for sale and it had the Continental Kit with the bump out bumper, it was really nice for a NJ car.
This is a neat find but will need some work and is a project for sure in its current state.

Here is a great quick video explaining what the 8701 and 8702 are and how they are different from the Commando.

Ended up selling the whole car, body was nicely stripped and put in primer. Sold without engine or trans, but with a good convertible top frame, for $3500, with its clear title. The new owner plans to restore the body etc. it is one of a few hundred made (Under 200 that year). I bought back a 1970, 8702 I had owned 15 years earlier so I did not need to finish this project.
Thanks for the update!
