This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Offered here for sale is most probably the nicest, most original 1978 Jeep CJ7 there is. What is seen in the photographs is all original except for tires and steps. Body, paint wheels, all the chrome and the Warn #8274, 8,000 pound electric winch are all original. There is no detectable rust on/in the body. Inside, the originality continues with seats, dashboard, floor lining and mats. It has a four speed transmission with extremely low first gear. It has 57,413 original miles on it. The engine is the original 258 cubic inch 6 cylinder Jeep motor.
This Jeep has been a “show” Jeep and “garage queen” almost all its life. I’m the third owner as far as I know. The previous owner never had it off pavement. (10/02/2023) The seller indicates this was built on a “1964 CJ-7 frame”, which must be a misprint because CJ-7s weren’t introduced until 1976.

It looks like the body may have been stretched some (to fit the CJ-7 frame) and the gas-inlet hole covered over.

“This is a fully built race Jeep, built in 1983 for the Mid-West Off-Road Racing series. I have paper documentation and pictures of races it ran, only raced a little over 3 rears and finished mostly 1st and Second. Raced against national teams from Western States and beat them. Hartman Racing Engine 351 Cleveland, rare NASCAR intake, 800 Holley Double Pumper, Fuel Cell with new foam, dana 44 front axel locked, ford 9 inch rear spooled, 4 speed ford too load trans, Jeep Dana 20 with advance adapter, HD cooling, full length roll cage. Added new MSD ignition Box, HEI distributor, High energy coil, wires, plugs. Took out the magneto, rebuilt and is ready if needed. “Bill Of Sale” only not street legal.
