This 1955 Willys-Jeep Station Wagon is now available for sale in Virginia. The car is finished in dark metallic green with a dark gray interior. Equipment includes a modern radio head unit, front-wheel disc brakes, and other modern amenities to increase comfort. Included in the sale is an owner’s manual, all dealership literature from purchase, a massive amount of factory brochures, a workshop manual, a set of keys and even written correspondence with the original owner. This vehicle was acquired by the seller in 2021 and is offered with a clean Virginia title.
This Willys-Jeep underwent a massive refurbishment completed in 2016 by Black Wolf Automotive Specialties in Virginia where the vehicle was converted to a 12 volt system alongside a massive list of upgrades and repairs for a total of $33,000, a copy of which is available in the shared folder by following the link at the end of the ad. All exterior lights function perfectly. For the bodywork, the green paint shows well. The seller notes very small areas of the paint lifting and a few chips in the paint. Additionally, the painter who did the graphics on the vehicle has stated the paint can be removed as desired.
The cabin features front bench seats and a rear bench trimmed in dark gray vinyl. The floor is protected by wood trim. Equipment includes functional speedometer, fuel, amp, coolant temperature, and oil pressure gauges. While a heater and defrost system is installed, it is currently non-functional. A full size spare is located in the rear cargo area.
The 226ci Inline-6 was removed and rebuilt during the restoration in 2016 and pulls incredibly strong. The overdrive is very handy to get into that higher speed range on the highway. Regular cruising at 60 is easily achieved.
The manual transmission shifts smoothly and without chattering or hesitation. The front differential lock and high/low lever are nearby and easy to operate. All function properly. The overdrive lever is also within reach and functions perfectly as it was a brand new assembly installed during the restoration. The transfer case was overhauled at the same time.
The braking system stops straight and has also been converted to a dual chamber master cylinder with front disc brakes. The 16” steel wheels are wrapped in Firestone 6.00×16” treaded tires replaced in 2016 which retain nearly full tread. The entire suspension was replaced and rebuilt at this time too.
Included in the sale are a matching vintage cooler, a vintage Motorola radio, and two green camping chairs. This car is ready to travel and take your family anywhere.
