About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: Here’s a version that starts at $19.99 on eBay (ends Friday 10am PST)
The story is straightforward: “By taking gardening jobs, catching bats and thieves, diving for bricks in a swimming pool, and inciting the interest of some helpful friends, a young boy makes his daydream of owning a jeep come true.”
“Up for auction is a very nice, original Willys Motors Chassis and Body Parts list for the Jeep FJ 3A Fleet van. This is NOT A REPRODUCTION. It has a copyright of 1962 and form number of W1141. I’m guessing it’s a first edition as it is not marked otherwise. The list has complete Willys original part numbers for every part covered, making this a very essential piece of Willys literature to anyone restoring or doing a project on one of the rarer Jeep models, the FJ3A Fleetvan.
Overall the condition is very good to excellent. The outer covers show the usual wear of something 50+ years old, with no major damage. The inner pages are all intact, with no staining or damage, and I would consider them to be in excellent condition.”

“For the Austrian Max Reisch, pioneer international motorist and writer of the 1930s, World War II offers yet more opportunities for adventure. Here is his lively account of his time with a vehicle maintenance unit of the Afrikakorps in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia. On forays into the desert at the wheel of a captured Jeep, searching out wrecked vehicles for spare parts, he visits the fabulous oasis of Siwa and digs his way out of the sinister minefield at Minquar Quim. Seeing German defeat as inevitable, he hatches several escape plans and finally, with no experience of the sea, acquires a dilapidated fishing boat and some rudimentary navigation skills. He avoids capture at Tunis and, despite damage to the boat, sets sail for Sicily together with seven comrades (and one small dog). Running the blockade of Allied warships and weathering a sudden storm, his motley crew succeeds against the odds.”
I’ve never read this. But, it comes with a wagon on the front. How bad could it be?
“A rich slice of Beat history, Trip Trap is Albert Saijo’s account of driving Jack Kerouac with Lew Welch from San Francisco to New York in 1959. It includes the poems they jotted down in notebooks along the way; their experiences in the city; a visit to Jack’s home in Northport, Long Island; and Lew’s letters to Jack about the return trip and his life in Reno.
This newly-revised edition-originally published in 1973-of the haiku Jack Kerouac, Albert Saijo, and Lew Welch jotted down on the road from San Francisco to New York in 1959, are dense, earthy incarnations of life on the road: “A coral colored Cadillac/ in Texas/ Threw gravel all over us,/ our beat jeep/ -Our windshield is nicked/ but our eyes/ are/ CLEAR…” Albert recounts their November trip in Lew’s Jeepster, making the big city scene, visiting Jack’s home in Northport on Long Island, and the long drive back west. The book also includes letters to Kerouac from Lew Welch in Reno.”
The King and the Whirly Bird was written by Mabel Watts in 1969. It’s supposed to include a reference/picture to the “royal jeep”. Whether there really is a jeep, it’s a cute sounding book.
“This hardcover book was writtten by Mabel Watts, illustrated by Harold Berson. Published by Parents’ Magazine Press, copyright 1969.
Once there was a king who had a wonderful kind of flying machine called a whirlybird. He had a pilot named Joe who could fly the machine, but the king would not use the machine at all. “Birds fly. I’m not a bird!” said the king. He had to travel a lot so he used the coach or rode the stallion. He even tried the rickety old royal train, and the old steamship, and finally the royal jeep. None of those methods of travel worked very well. Finally, Joe the pilot convinced the king to try the whirlybird. “This is the way to travel! The whirlybird is the best!” said the king.
Scott spotted this good price on a SAS in WWII Book at Amazon. If you ever had any interest in the SAS, you might check out this book. I’ve ordered a copy.
