These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Here’s an old dependable that needs a new master cylinder.
“63 willys cj5 w/ 6ft power angle plow. 4cyl f-head, 3spd.shifts threw all gears.clutch sticks when it sits but free’s up. i have had it going 35 or so down my street. this has been my yard plow for the past 2 years and has never let me down starts everytime. right now it only has about a foot of exhaust but really isnt that loud, ok maybe it is. the last storm the master cylinder blew out, before that the brakes worked fine. i dont have any paper work for it but will give a bill of sale. there is rot and some hacking done on the body but over all not to bad off. could be a nice off road project.”
(12/21/09) I doubt this will fetch the asking price, but it looks like a great restoration. That doesn’t look like an original color?

The top looks good and it comes with a warn winch. This might be a good price.

“1964 Willys Cj5 jeep. good clear clean title. 4 speed. 4cyl. dually rear axle , I also have original axle. 4wd hi and low. new 5 point racing bucket seats. new paint. all lights and blinkers work. fan and heater blows hot. (01/03/2010) This is an interesting build as it sports a jeepster front clip. I can’t remember seeing this done. I think it works pretty well. I’d check out the frame closely, as the seller had a problem with it during an outing.
“This is my prize 1963 CJ5 rock crawler that due to the lack of interest and the need of money for property taxes, I must let go. I easily have $15000 invested in this and the only thing left on it that’s 1963 is the rear axle housing.
Here’s what’s been done;
1. Dana 30 disc brake front end w/4:88 gears and a Lock-rite and Warn hubs(27 Spline)
2. Dana 44 offset rear with 11” brakes w/4:88 gears and a power lock, full float with 27 spline Warn hubs
3. Early 80’s DJ frame with outboard rear YJ leaf springs and Rancho 3” front springs, shackle reversal
4. New drive shafts
5. 1979 229 Chevy v6 injected on propane
6. t-18 granny low Ford transmission mated to Spicer 18 transfer case
7. 67 Jeepster front clip
8. 76 CJ5 tub
9. Warn 8000# upright winch
10. Power steering
11. Recent Best top
12. Toyo Open Country’s 35×13.50r15lt on custom offset steel rock crusher wheels
13. Wiring harness, 16 circuit, purchased from THE JEEP GUY here in Portland
14. 3 propane fuel tanks, 2 mounted + a spare
15. Permanent Oregon SP tags, can and will drive on the street, but in limited amounts with these tags
16. And much too much more to list
Here’s what needs to be finished;
1. Needs to have a roll cage built
2. Needs exhaust redone
3. Has some minor electrical gremlins searched out
This Jeep has been on most of the trails at Moab, Rubicon, Fordyce, Barrett Lake, and Browns Camp to name a few. This Jeep has been a constant work in progress for me for the last 25 years or so, but time to move on. Really need to get $5000 out of this, but cash talks so make me an offer. Would consider trades for nice FSJ, Hot Rod, Rat Rod, Drag race parts, Dually, AMC’s, Car Trailer, or anything else you have I might find of interest. Here’s a fun looking, old school build that Bob spotted. It looks like it has a CJ-5/CJ-3b cage in it — the bend in the front is in the wrong spot. But, who cares; it has flames!

“THIS IS A PROJECT! Both jeeps run, Jeep 1 has a western plow set up and plow frames. Jeep 1 frame is rotted, and floor of tub needs to be replaced among other body work. Firewall is good.Jeep 2 was hacked into tow vehilce has good frame and engine fires right up and good rims and tires and has meyers plow set up . It also has a half metal top with working windows. Both are f134 hurricanes with about 120K on each. There is enough here to make one jeep if you know how to weld. Have bill of sale only.”
UPDATE: Well, I have to express a big mea culpa on this one. Ed has pointed out that this has a later model body, which could mean the miles are off as well. See Ed’s comment for more info. Thanks Ed!

This appears to be an excellent price on a running CJ-5 with an OD, a full rollcage and a winch (though the winch is having an electrical issue).
“1960 (Orig Year) CJ5 Willys Jeep that has been customized for Off-Road Use. Added are Rebuilt Ford 289 Small Blk (V8) engine (approx 5,000 miles on rebuilt) with a T-90 3spd Full-Overdrive Transmission (3 stick adjustment, like the old Tractor Trailers — has overdrive to every gear, including reverse, so 6 forward gears). This vehicle is low geared enough to climb a hillside that the BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires (only 10k miles used), and you can walk it up from the outside. Painted 3 years ago and although not perfect, good enuf for off-road, with twin 7-gal fuel tanks. Added Bucket seats with heavy-duty Seat covers (seats are a little torn), Buick Tilt & Power Steering, New WIndshield and Wipers. Offroad lights and 10k lb Warn Winch. It would be a great project vehicle, as there is always little things to tinker with, but the only two issues to mention: 1> the big bucket seats and old military jeep frame don’t allow real big men too much comfort, so a larger person might want to switch out the seats; and 2> the warn winch is having electrical problems and I had the armiture looked at, but they told me it is part of the electrical relay or component in the winch, so I have not fixed that. I am motivated to sell, and I know the value of this in excellent collectors shape would bring $5k, but I am willing to go half ($2500) or a near best offer.”
