About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Rare jeep m170 military ambulance, body rough but intact, frame good, needs rear x member, missing seats and windshield, no title, but not hard to acquire through Vermont. most parts interchage with cj5/m38. Engine did run last year, and has excellent compression, don’t miss this opportunity to own a very rare military jeep.”
“I have decided to let go of my rare M170 Willys Front Line Ambulance. This vehicle is in very good condition and has undergone a comprehensive refreshment with new wiring, a rebuilt engine, new hoses, clamps and fluids, a new top and canvas cushions and it comes with an in-and-out military snorkel kit and a folding stretcher.
The vehicle operates on a 24 volt system with new, twin in-line batteries as well as high and low positons for four wheel drive when taken out of two wheel drive for the pavement. Starts, runs, shifts and stops, just like it should. Note that this vehicle will top out at 50 mph, so it is not meant for the highway.
There are a few minor items that need attention such as fixing the gas gauge and oil temp gauge and possibly replacing the steering wheel (have the correct new one) if desired. Most anything is available through online suppliers. Also, the full enclosure and doors are available as well ($4,500). Continue reading →
“Own a very rare piece of History. Only 4000 made, some didn’t come back from Vietnam. This is a 1955 M170 Jeep Ambulance ? in very good condition, this is rare, will absolutely turn heads
Must sell moving, would consider trading for a side by side”
UPDATE: **SOLD** was $16,000. They may take $20,000 for both this and the project (shown in the post below).
Per Joe-in-Mesa: “Jun’s dream was to restore/finish the M170 project as the new MASH jeep due to it’s rot-free body, then outfit it with all the ambulance gear, canvas and medical supplies. This would leave a buyer with a “leftover” solid, running M170 to sell or do the body work or just enjoy for off-roading fun in a stretched jeep.”

“1950s M-170 Ambulance Vietnam army Jeep. Will be a complete restore. Told by previous owner that engine is strong. No title-no key. Could work with County clerk to get a classic title rather easily. Turned out to be more than we could do due to family circumstances-basically ran out of time and too many projects haha. Make offer! Could deliver in Lexington over next day or two. Thanks! Open to all offer and or trades”
