Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Four Willys for sale, three trucks and one wagon. This is a package deal including the trucks, wagon, extra cab for parts, extra grill assembly, three extra axles, many extra rims and tires. Will not part out individually. Years range from 1948 to 1954. The green one has a small block Corvette engine in it. Bought it from the son of the original owner, father took care of it, son blew up the Warn Overdrive a week after he inherited it. Had bought with the intention of restoring them. The two orange ones have the stock 4 cylinder, the wagon has the stock 6 cylinder, and the green one the 8 cylinder small block Corvette engine. All units have small amounts of rust and some body work needed done.”
This might make a good project.

“What you have here is a 1960 Willys wagon ready to be restored with clear title, current registration and a cool original license plate.
The good:
Original running gear with a rebuilt Buick 225 V6 installed.
Engine runs great, very peppy.
Brakes work good enough to stop but need to be rebuilt
Original seats in good condition
Oak floor strips in good condition.
Complete body chrome
Locking hubs
Original wheels with good tires
The bad:
Wagon has rust in the normal places like the floors but also has rust in the roof. See pictures.”

“This is a beautifully resto-modded 1963 Willys Wagon 4×4! I purchased it from a private seller in Eastern NC outside of Asheville. He owned it for approx 10 years and the restoration was completed approx 9 years ago.
The build was very thorough from start to finish. The body was removed and all rusted panels were cut out and replaced with new steel (see photo album of resto). A New Chevy 350 V8 engine was installed along with a Chevy Automatic Transmission that is mated to the original Dana 18 Transfer Case (recently rebuilt). The axles are from a Jeep Grand Wagoneer and were completely rebuilt with new bearings and seals. The axle upgrade gives this Willys Power Disc Brakes up front and a much better gear ratio for cruising than the original setup. It also has Power Steering and a Vintage Air A/C system with R134 refrigerant.
