Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I looked at this GPW last year. It was in a different town and the price was $1500 higher. It appears to be a salad that has been restamped to appear as an early GPW. The MB frame has deep GPW serial numbers stamped in. The glove box tags are repro. The ‘Ford’ script on the back of the tub looks pristine like a repro panel was spliced in.
