Buying Tips
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Nice posters, I especially like the one where the soldiers are driving a slat grill Jeep and wearing the World War 1 style helmets. Thanks.
Steve – I just framed and hung in our store an original of that SAVE RUBBER poster. Such a great poster! Goes well with showing customers the rubber saving on our 45 MB where they used steel inserts in radiator hoses, leather shift boots, and felt pedal drafts and tool and glove box gaskets. Also note that in much ephemera of the war where a Jeep was pictured, it’s a slat grill. I believe it’s because those were the ones early on available for photo ops, etc. Same with the doughboy helmets. All cool details!
So, yesterday I took another glance at the SAVE RUBBER poster and saw an interesting detail: The red reflector on the left rear corner is a RED MARBLES REFLECTOR! You will barely see it here, but the approx 4 x 3′ poster it’s clear as a bell.
