Saturday, Scams, and More…..

Happy Saturday, hope everyone is having a great weekend. My plans for the weekend are to get some time on the ’63 Red Wagon and figure out the fuel pump issue with the mighty 230.

I suspended posting due to an on going Scam investigation related to that MB we posted from from CO. It seems that one was too good to be true and a reader got burned on that one which just sucks all around. 1. That I posted it and shared it, 2, That the scammer was not able to be stopped, at this time not much we can do on this exact one but learn and adapt.

I think a lot of us running websites have methods or moderators in place related to posting these ad’s and steps to prevent these from being posted up, I will not directly share all my steps that I have developed but it’s not you send me an ad and I post it up. There are a few things I look for, but obviously something was missed here and they can be very sophisticated. In review of that exact post with the old verification process it still would pass and make it across, so change is due to try to improve the process and do what I can to prevent from sharing these scams when able for ad’s that are directly sent into the site.

Moving forward for direct Ad posts from a Seller or Authorized Representative or Agent you will complete the eWillys Ad Submission form and provide the various information. I will review the information submitted and make a decision on the post.

Below is the link to the Ad Submission.

eWillys Ad Submission

If you have sent in a request past 7-1-2026 and you would still like us to post, please resend that and use this new process to resubmit your item for posting.

This could entirely put user submissions to zero and I am fully prepared to accept that users may not want or like to supply this additional information, but I feel this is in the best interest of the larger community to know that direct submissions are vetted using a robust process. All information will remain as confidential as you would like, no information has ever been publicly posted with out the user authorizing or having a say in what is posted, but I will require the information be on record on the back end. Even this will not stop all the scams.

Mostly eWillys shares ad’s that are found in the Wild and users submit others that are interesting to them and we post them up, I think there is a buyers beware there on those items that we are blindly sharing those ad’s, I do have some processes in place to not just post every ad I see and I am selective on the content and do not post everything out there.

I still welcome leads from readers and will review and post them, they do not need to go through this formal process and I can not police the internet and all of the scams out there. But I can control what is directly submitted to the site for posting and try my best.

As always I appreciate the support and sorry for the ebb and flow of posts as it seems like something new pops up and it just takes time to sort this all out and stand up the new processes, in the mean time there is a huge historical content and value that eWillys has to share, please look around and search up you favorite keyword, like advertising, you can look at the Category sections as well since most posts are in certain sections.

If you need anything or have certain concerns please email me at post@ewillys.com

Have a great weekend and enjoy.

Thanks, Tim
