Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Marty’s got this Tornado engine and bell housing for sale.
“I have a complete tornado 230 engine for sale. Complete wirh flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, bell housing, starter, 12 volt alternator mounted on the engine, also have the original 6 volt alternator to go with, i have a factory power steering pump with mount and hoses thats not mounted too.
I was told this was a good running motor when i got it. And by the looks of it i would believe it. Shows little signs of any oil leaks, new water pump, new cap and rotor with new spark plug wires and even the detailed out valve cover. I was goimg to use it in my wagon but my build plans have changed.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000.
It looks like this is the CJ-2A era Capstan with a modified mount for the crankshaft (unless I”m mistaken; I’m no expert on these).
“This is a totally restored Willys Capstan Winch, made for WWII era MB and GPW Jeeps. All the parts are here and are either restored or machined new. It bolts right to the front bumper and has a drive that bolts up to the crank, so it is a “permanent” fixture on your refurbished Jeep. Unrestored winches on eBay are priced around $3,000 so that price for this one is realistic. The winch is ready to install and go. Be the first in your club to have one and don’t go 4-wheelin’ without it.”

“Aftermarket Sears Manual Locking Hubs Taken Off Willys MB Fits CJ2A GPW Jeep CJ. Condition is “Used”. Used take offs for rebuild or parts. D-bubba-ing my 1945 MB and finally got around to removing these off the front axles. As is condition. The Jeep has not run since I acquired it and therefor these are untested in driving conditions. Mounting bolts are not included.”
