Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1964 Jeep CJ5A Tuxedo Park. Very rare Jeep model. Original seats and original red/white color combo! Not original motor. It has a 225 V6 Dauntless in it with dual side exhaust. Has all the original, hard to find chrome pieces. Converted from column shift to 3spd floor shift. Has hi-lo 2wd/4wd gears. Runs, drives, stops great! Very nice parade jeep!”

“What I have is a 1956 cj5 willys with a BUICK V6 225 odd fire it is a barn find has not been licensed since 1984 has no rust that i could find can drive as is once you fix the breaks needs some minor fender work has new tires it starts but might need to work on starter in the future. “I have a 1956 willys cj5, 4 cyl 3spd twin stick 4wd. It runs and shifts fine. Needs body work mainly tub work, needs fuel tank. The frame is in good shape and the shackles and axles are original. 1 tire looses air but i just keep it aired up. The seats are in good shape. I purchased it to make a weekend driver, but i have ran out of space and time. New parts included are as followed. New bikini top. New brake master cylinder.”

Well this is different.
“1957 Willys CJ5 with 1957 GMC bed. Runs well and drives well. 18 gal aluminum tank in bed. 30×10.50 x15 tires. New alternator, new water pump.”
This is being sold as a 1969 CJ-5 with only 8730 miles on it. Yet, the tail lights and the front parking lights are not original. The speedometer does not look original either (wasn’t the 69 CJ-5 still using the 0-9 speedo?). Anyone else have thoughts about it?

Seller was rewiring. The dash has been removed. This may be worth a look.

Runs and drives perfectly (no lights). Full cage, Bimini top and original soft top. Was going to restore but moving out of state and do not want to haul. Have new wiring harness and dash panel. Have over $6K in parts, new electronic ignition, new clutch master cylinder, new brakes etc. My loss is your gain – first $4000 takes.”
