Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1957 jeep fc150 forward controll 4 cyl engine with rebuilt carb it fires up and runs good it needs the brakes , cooling , fuel system to be gone through but I believe you can drive it at that point . It’s equipped with a hydraulic PTO and dump bed Which needs work but is in tact is complete and in decent condition I think it would be a great piece for advertisement for your business and or just a fun project Please email you me your contact info and I will call you back as soon as possible if interested .pink slip in hand thank you .”

“1962 jeep fc170 dually 1 ton with flatbed. Some extra parts included. Needs carberator work to run but did have it running. Only has 37,600 miles. Body is solid just needs some love. Very rare jeep asking 9,000”

“For Sale: 1957 Willy’s FC 170 Jeep Pickup Truck Chassis.
$1000
This is a complete chassis of an FC (forward control) 170.
It has all the original drive train including the oil bathed air cleaner, generator, and starter.
It has a super hurricane flat head 6-cylinder engine.
It has a T90 3-speed transmission and a T18 transfer case.
It has a Dana 44 front axle, a Dana 50 rear axle.
The motor turns over, and it will probably run.
What is left of the cab is the steering column, original seat frames, and vin plate.”
The photo below appeared in a 1958 article from the Spokesman-Review. The article below comes from a November 29, 1956 article in the Toledo Blade that announced the FC’s introduction.
The Red 1961 FC-170 is priced at $2800. The White FC next to it is $1800. An FC-150 (not shown) might also be for sale.
“1961 forward control (the red one) …too many projects – not enough time… I bought this to restore as the original Green Bay & Western Railroad service jeep that it is .Restoration was started, the rusty metal was removed from the cab and the bed was sandblasted and primed but needs the rust cut out. it runs but has no brakes. Both have clear titles. The white one is all original untouched. might sell for $1800, it also runs and drives needs brake work also. Have an fc 150 (short bed 1/2 ton) for parts. Buddy, my partner (the dog) is 12 years old and not for sale….thanks, Chris….NOTE, the dated pics are of the white jeep.”

(1028/2015) It’s a parts deal.
“I have the complete original drive train from a 1963 Jeep FC-170 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive truck. Includes the six cylinder hurricane engine, three speed transmission, transfer case with PTO output, front and rear axles. Engine ran 6 months ago. Cab is removed for sheet metal work. Everything is still installed in the frame and will be removed upon selling or sooner. Frame is not included in sale. Serious inquiries only please. These are very rare trucks. “1957 FC-150 Willys Jeep. Real solid for the year Flat nose, 4WD, Narrow Track Jeep. Runs real strong. Has the “Hurricane” 4 cyl. engine. No smoke, knocks etc.. Mostly original interior with re-upholstered seats. 3 speed manual trans with Hi and Lo range.New brakes, wheel cylinders, hoses etc..
Use as is or excellant restoration canidate. Have complete plow frame, controls and pump that go with it. No plow. Very rare Jeep with original bed. Local delivery available or we will deliver in New England for a fee.”
It runs and drives, but doesn’t stop. No title.
“as far as I can tell this is a 1958 Jeep Fc 150 forward control truck that someone has taken the bed off and put a boom on it runs and drives, the 4wd drive works good also, it is rusty but would make a great woods toy, has Dana 44s it has plenty of torque, in four low it will about snap your neck! Great for a hunting club. Selling as is no warranties, with Bill Of Sale only! Thanks for looking make me an offer.
