UPDATE: **SOLD**
“Why buy a gpw, mb or an m38 when your next restoration could be one of the rarest military jeep vehicles that exist. the m677 series jeep was ordered by the navy and marine corp in 1964. there were originally only about 300 ordered. there is now only about 30 or so that exist. of that 30 some are only rusty hulks found in fields by the people who have enough love for the jeep fc that they got out of their car took pictures and recorded the serial number. this auction represents a once in a life time chance to add this truly rare military to jeep your collection. i have seen on some military vehicle blogs that some people have been looking for 10 to 20 years for one of these. ok the truck.. first the body is rust free.”
Gordon wrote me today and offered to provide readers with some more pics. This looks like a very nice FC.

Hmm .. I’m pretty sure it is still a project.
“This truck is a project my friend started but was unable to finish for health reasons. As the photos show it is comepletly disassembled. all of the parts pictured come with the truck. The suspension has all been changed. The rear end is mustang and has had new leaf springs installed. A complete new straight axle kit from Speedway was jnstalled on the front with all new bearings, bushings, brake calipers and mustang rotors. the kit cost over $1000.00. Frame has been partially boxed, but needs finished and is set up for chevy big block with 400 trans. The driveshaft for this setup is included. Wheels are Eagle alloy 18″. Tires are Falken ZIEX ZE512s with 255/45ZR18s on back and 245/40ZR18s on front….”
It looks in pretty good shape.
“1961 Willys Jeep FC-150 Pickup. Original 78 horsepower four cylinder engine, three speed manual transmission, 5.13 geared Dana 44 axles front and rear. High and low range four-wheel-drive. Brand new reproduction Firestone 7.00-15 military lug tires on factory 15” steel wheels. This is a rust-free 32,000 original mile California desert truck that has less than 500 miles on a body-off-frame restoration. These trucks were built on the CJ-5 platform and featured a cab-forward body and a small pickup bed. Only 1,298 1961 FC-150’s were ever built and there are only a handful left in this condition. Beautiful Mountain Green Poly and Palm Beach Ivory two-tone with beige interior. Very reliable and can be driven anywhere. Top speed of about 55 MPH but will pull a house down the road. “Tool Time” Tim Taylor just paid $40,000 for one of these trucks in similar condition at the recent Arizona auctions, this truck can be bought for only $20,950.”
