This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I am selling my dream restoration. My rare ’62 Willys Jeep FC 170 dually for only $7500 OBO. All original, new tires on front, new brakes, flathead 6 with a 3 speed. Has no bed but ready to have a custom flatbed, tilt bed or dump installed. 4 wheel drive works good. Engine smokes and needs attention. Just try and find another fc dually–good luck for one at anywhere near this price!”

“Willys Jeep FC150 1959 or later. Not sure of the exact year as the vin # is missing. Most of the work that has been done was by the prior owner and I have not driven it on the road since purchasing. Driving it in the yard all seems to work except the brakes need attention ….. Needs tee installed at master cyl. for brake lights. I have the tee and switch. The wipers do not work. All glass is intact with some clouding on lower windshield. The passenger side seat has had the mounts moved so it is not attached as it should be. The emergency brake is not hooked up.”

While the outside on this looks very good, the engine is frozen. The seller presents a variety of comparison prices to make the case for the price.
“After much agonizing, I’m selling my 1960 Jeep FC170 cabover pickup (flatbed). Good body, presentable interior, nearly new tires. All original running gear: 3-speed, two-speed transfer case, locking hubs. Hurricane 6-cylinder engine is frozen (rod?). Clear title, current license. This will be a very easy restoration for a collector, or can be a real workhorse with either the same engine or with a 350 swap (adapters are available commercially). Why sell it? Running out of time this year, with too many family medical issues to deal with, and enough other 4×4’s that this one isn’t really needed. Call for more info or pictures. ”

It starts, but sounds like it hasn’t been driven. The seller has listed a number of specifics so check out the website for more info.
“THE FOLLOWING IS MY STORY WITH THIS VEHICLE: This FC-170 Jeep was purchased three years ago from a neighbor that has since passed away. He was an engineer and this vehicle was his baby, he kept it up-to-date in many respects. He also used it for many years as a working truck and parked it under an overhang and sometimes under a big oak tree. It had a toolbox bed, but I removed it. I bought it with the intent of restoring it, but have I not had the time or the money—my loss may be your gain. Based on all the FC-170s that I have seen for the last couple of years, this one is in good shape. The following is what I have done to it (very little besides admire it and dream of rebuilding it) …”
I included the pic below because it is a good look at how the tranny and transfercase were adapted to work in the FC.

It looks like there is some rust on this to me, but nothing too bad.
“1962 jeep fs 170 it looks rust free, very solid have not tried to start it, it is complete it belonged to a friends father that passed away i dont know the last time it ran but they say it ran , tires are ok there is a dent on the roof , the glass is good , this ,jeep is for sale in other places so i may end the auction early or it may be sold when you buy it now ,from 1957 to 1964 only 30,000 where made DUE TO THE RESPONSE TO THIS LISTING I TOOK MORE PHOTOS AND LOOKED FOR RUST THERE WAS SOME BUBBLES ON THE DOOR BOTTOM EVERYTHING IS SOLID WITH ONLY SURFACE RUST”
This FC includes a second FC-170 parts vehicle.
“In good shape for being 50 years old! Straight 6 226 engine with 3 speed transmission – it starts and runs but smokes a little. The body is fairly straight, small rust in passenger side corners. An intake scoop was added south of the border to get more cooling at one point in its life. New tires (zero miles on them) and powder coated stock wheels (two spare wheels also). Have another parts rig, a 1958 FC170 that has no bed – this goes along with this one. Also have 2 extra engines and a spare transmission or two for the package. Drop me an email for more information. This rig has a cool Oregon history.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $6500
I don’t see any rust on this FC. It appears in good, original condition.
“1962 Jeep Willys FC170 Forward Control. Only 30,000 of these were made. Hard to find in this condition. Looks and runs great. 58,000 original miles. This appears to be in very good shape for the price. The engine even runs.
