Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This looks dusty, but otherwise appears in good shape. It doesn’t run at the moment.
“This is a 1954 M38A1 Jeep with Marine Corp Markings. It was bought as you see it in 1964 and has been keep in a garage when not driven. Has not run in @ 10 years. This jeep has all of the 24 volt charging system that was original equipment for this Jeep. The Jeep has been converted to a 12 volt system. In addition there is a spare engine and other spare parts and manuals. CASH ONLY”

This doesn’t have an engine, but the body looks pretty straight.

It’s a project or a parts jeep.
“1952 M38a1 Military jeep 23,000 + miles IF IT DON’T SELL IT WILL BE PARTED ON EBAY. This jeep does run but needs gas tank repair or new gas tank and front brake line. has good tires,and has been conveted to 12V system i do have both front seats. Price is $700.00 firm. Comes with bill of sale only! has never been titled, it came from the military to the fire dept, to the auction.”
This has some dings and dents and needs paint; however, the interior appears in good shape.

This was an M-38A1 .. not sure what I’d call it now.
“This is a 1953 willys M38a1 jeep. Perfect for a mud truck, it is not street leagal. Runs. It has a 4 cyl hurricane f-head, 4wd, 3sp trans with 35″ military mud tires on it. It has 5.38 gears.
