Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s got a nice top and runs, but has some rust issues.
“1952 willys, all orignal except for 12 volt system. has the 134 f head 4 banger that I have running it will drive around, but the brakes need to be worked on. there is bad rust on the passenger and drivers side floor boards. outside the body is in ok shape a dent here and there. 2 of the tires leak down every day or so from dryrot. bottom line is it needs work to drive. call with questions I don’t reply to emails”
This looks like a good price on a very early M-38a1.
“1952 M38-A1 first year of the round fender jeeps, Original engine, 24V electrics, restorable body. Was used as a fire truck after it left the Army. Still has the Army green paint underneath. It’s got a great top. It comes with an anti-theft chain, too (see stearing wheel pic).

Here’s an original, lightly used Jeep.
“1954 willys military jeep. under 30,000 miles. has recently been painted. tires are original and in good condition. all parts are original except 2 new batteries, no canvas top. have some metal frame work for top. body , inner wheel well and framework appear to be rust free. been in storage for 18 years that we know of. reduced to $3,000.00.”
