Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I can only hope that this formerly rare four door wagon was rusted beyond being savable, so was chopped down to a four door wagon. One can always hope, right? Never-the-less, the result is surely odd.

(05/29/2012) One runs and one doesn’t.
“I have decided to sell both my willys trucks together, I will not separate. The black one is a 1948. It has a later model overhead valved, 134ci 4cyl motor. It runs and I have been using it here on the farm till recently. It has started to “flood out” a little in past few weeks. I have filed for the title and am wating to get it. Both trucks have good tires. The green one is a 1960. I have the title to it. It does not run. It has the 6cyl “super hurricane” motor, but is apart. It has the original koenig pto drive winch on it. This is kinda rare. I simply don’t have the time to restore either one of them. I will not seperate, and the price is firm.”

“This is a 1947 Willys first year / flat fender truck, it has a small block chevy with the original willys trans, runs great ! good clutch , frame floors, needs some body repair easy fix ! brakes need some help / you have to pump them, paint very dry and flking on the frame, but the frame looks excellent. even the emer brake works, has hdlts taillts and stop, no games $6 k is a very fare price $$, I know what they are worth, some guy is selling one on ebay for 15k $ Its nowhere near the shape mine is,”

“1956 Willy’s Truck $3900. This truck has a Chrysler slant 6 engine and runs beautifully. It is a 3 speed with OD. It has 4WD, hi/lo…all is in excellent working condition. The interior is in great condition. This is a good driving rig and I hate to get rid of it but I need the money to help pay for grad school. Please call with any questions.”
